Mother performs exorcism, kills her two children

The Washington post reports:

A Germantown mother and another woman accused of killing two toddlers and injuring two other children believed they were performing an exorcism, Montgomery County police said Saturday.

The toddlers, Norell Harris, 1, and Zyana Harris, 2, were found with multiple stab wounds in an upstairs bedroom, police said. The older children, Taniya Harris, 5, and Martello Harris, 8, were hospitalized with serious injuries, and police said Friday their conditions were improving.

What a tragedy! In my opinion, this is more of an indictment of untreated mental illness and insufficient community support for the mentally ill than fundamentalist religion, though.
