Special Announcement for my 100th Blog Post

How many times does a girl get to make her 100th blog post?  Once in a lifetime. (unless she creates multiple blogs on various sites so she can relive the 100th moment...but that's a lot of effort so we're gonna go with once for me.) Deadline....dead! Take that!

Deadlines....yikes!

Okay, so you see there was this deadline.  Which is fine.  Deadlines don't scare me.  I love deadlines.  I issue deadlines.  Deadlines and me are like this (picture my fingers crossed - super close.) But this deadline isn't like other deadlines.  It's a trickster.  See the paperwork for the deadline all said 02/22/2016.  All the emails I've about it referenced 02/22/2016.  But some how my head interpreted that as 02/24/2016...and that was the part of m

It's nothing, stop asking...

Every so often I get this pain in my outer right wrist...yes, it's a repetitive injury from swiping and I'm aware of how pathetic that is.    It only hurts when I move it a certain way so I learned wearing a wrist brace makes it heal faster since it keeps me from moving that way. A peek into my the marriage...I'm here to teach...

There is one thing I love about Lent...

I'm not a big fan of fast food but the first Friday in Lent triggers a powerful craving... So good.  Once.  Then I'm back to whining about pizza and fish for the next 6 Fridays. I received an unexpected email earlier. A thank you note from an end user. Apparently he really appreciated the help I gave him the other day and wanted me to know he's really grateful for how much easier I've made his job.

Riddikulus...

I just realized why I post silly memes about the most mundane things...to me they're like the riddikulus spell in Harrry Potter where it forces the nasty bogart to take the shape of something funny. Cranky and resentful about the weekend winding down?  stressed and anxious about work tomorrow? google images proves lots of others felt the same...enough to toss the sentiment onto an image....takes my engagement down a notch or ten.

Lest you think my siblings are mean, but flattering I want to throw in there it's not the first time I got a round of phone calls demanding Inwatch a show because one of the characters was "JUST like you!  Omg the resemblance is scary!" its happened before...

Frozen in time...

I have two sisters and we're all very close.  Now.  We'll call them Prue and Piper, and not just because my eldest sister bore a striking resemblance in temperament to Shannen Doherty.  (She's a lovely person now, need that disclaimer in there.)  Piper on the other hand decided she was my sister mom from the day they brought be home and so we've always been really close. They are Irish twins and both over a decade older than I - they and our brother are all < 4

Lasagne seemed like a good idea at the time...

I was hungry and alert yesterday when I offered to make lasagne today.  Now I'm not hungry and the fact that I had to get off the couch to make it was annoying. im making this kind... shouldve used this recipe and Id be a little more enthused...

Mom...again...

I wrrote this a few years ago on her birthday...no, I don't know why I'm loading tons of maudlin stuff today....getting it out of my system Somali can get back to being a heartless automaton which I much prefer. -------- It's my mom's birthday today. I really need to clean out my head dresser...

What time is it?

It wasn't even 6:00 this morning when I got a text from an end user in the office saying the entire network was down.  No email, no erp, no internet, shared drives...nada. Which is the most relaxing message to wake up to ever. Need advice - fine tip markers

I know I'm lucky not have to have been shunned for not coloring...but I need some advice from those of you well schooled in the art of marker buying for a work thing.  Ahem @Curious I have a system of specing out new reports or mapping current ones where I use Pilot Precise V5 Rolling Ball fine tip (I don't know if they are called markers or pens, but super fine tip so I can write crazy small.)  I need multiple colors to differentiate mapping to different tables, show c

The ultimate 1st world problem...

Couple of things you need to know to factor into your advice: I am not gifted at the art of home decor.  At all.   I hate pintrest because it won't let me look at things without signing up and I don't want to be taken hostage my yet another social media thing I don't understand. In all other areas of my life I abhor clutter to such a degree I can't even tell you and will throw things out with merry abandon if not stoppe

A cat fight and the art of compromise...

When Mr. Buffy and I first got together he thought my bedding was a little on the feminine side.   And after all this time I've learned to compromise...note the very masculine navy blue pillow cases behind the shams.
