Special Announcement for my 100th Blog Post

How many times does a girl get to make her 100th blog post?  Once in a lifetime.

(unless she creates multiple blogs on various sites so she can relive the 100th moment...but that's a lot of effort so we're gonna go with once for me.)

The 100th post needs to be special.  It needs to be timely.  It needs to be a statement that reflects a deeply held belief that I truly think that, if implemented, would make the world a better place.

This is that statement.

I believe that Pebbles Flintstone-Rubble's Birthday - February 22nd - should be a federal holiday.

Not one of those calendar holidays, either.  A real holiday with a day off from work.  I will vote for the presidential candidate who adds this to their platform.  Except Trump.

Pebbles turned 53 yesterday.  And we need a long weekend mid-February - and she had much better hair than either Washington or Lincoln who share the calendar only holiday of President's Day.

See?

Not even a contest.

I must remember this.  There are reasons I am not going to detail that involve my childhood.  And perhaps a maternal grandmother that bestowed some grandchildren (but not all) with nicknames.  I might be one.  I might not.  And as someone born on the last day of Feb every year but leap year in a profession that means taking off the last workday of the month presents minor issues, I might declare Feb 22 as my un-birthday (or, if I were to have a nickname from childhood that I loathed - and would have had nothing to do with hair color by the way, if it existed - my nick-birthday.

Wee!

Happy 100th blog post, Buffy! I get to add to my February events to remember. February something--Lincoln's birthday. February 14--Valentine's Day. February 15--Remember the Maine!!!! (I know that one for some weird reason.) Third Monday in February--Presidents' Day. February something--George Washington's birthday. February 22--Pebbles Flintstone-Rubble's birthday. February 28--clueliss' birthday.

Now I can't remember how to do quadratic equations. Oh well. I never use that, anyway.

Foil.  That's how you solve a quadratic equation so now you have that, too!

Traditionally (in the US at least) doesn't the groom or the groom's family pay for the honeymoon? Frankly I'd get bored at one of those giant Bahamian resorts too. Still, this doesn't bode well for their future that Haley got homesick after 8-9 days away--especially since they are supposed to spend a couple of months on a missioncation next.

I don’t know if that’s a tradition set in stone. Most couples pay for their own honeymoons nowadays. That’s why you are so many people asking people gift to the honeymoon fund instead of bringing a gift to the wedding. But she’s a teen and her parents are living in a million dollar plantation. So I’m guessing they paid for it.

I hope she feels like she has a choice particularly in the area of procreation. Does she realize the likely reason she doesn’t want to leave the house might be d/t the fact that she has 5 kids, 8 and younger?

That was exactly my thought. I hated leaving the house with two young kids. All those car seats, car sickness, and the constant complaining. Along with remembering to pack diapers, wipes, and other crap babies need. I also hated to nurse in public. So I felt like I was on house arrest for a full year.

I’m super boring. My life is probably similar to Jessa’s. But I chose this life. I have the ability to go back to work if I wanted. Or take big trips. But I’m not interested. Sometimes I wonder if Jessa regrets her choice. Does Jessa feel like she has a choice?
