In the full article is says the guy was facing 63 years in prison but took a plea deal and only got 25-39 months! The system is so fucked up! These are the type of people who have very little chance of rehabilitation. They need to be locked up and throw away the fucking key!

Also noticed the arrest was 2011. Obviously radar felt like it was relevant to report now because of the Duggar scandal. There is so much shit like this that you don't hear about because it doesn't involve a celebrity or isn't a "timely story". This is why I will NEVER EVER put my children on a reality show. I mean, it's one thing if my future children are actors because they're not going to be filmed in compromising situations when they're children, and I can be with them at all times when they're on set to help protect them. But never reality TV. Never. There are no boundaries in reality TV, and you never know when you're child is going to be in a compromising position. And then you get people who are more than happy to take advantage of their vulnerability (like Scott, who thought it was more than acceptable to film Josie when she had an accident because "why not?") and then that vulnerability gets to someone who can spend hours watching it. Hell to the fucking no. Not on your life. Never.

TLC released a statement at the time saying he wasn't a direct employee and wasn't in any contact with the 'talent' (their word, not mine). Instead, he was the employee of a company that contracted editing services -- so he would have basically recieved unedited footage and made it ready for publishing.

It doesn't sound like he was actually in any connection or contact with the Duggars at all.

TLC's molestation special should have just taken a serious turn, if they really want to turn the network around. There are just a clusterfuck of horrible, terrible situations that the network has been involved in. They have helped to fund numerous predators who abuse or have abused children -- and exploit them, too, but TLC is all about that, just in a slightly cleaned up manner. Even if it's a degree or two removed, they need a better vetting process.

I remember at the time this story broke there had recently been an episode of the kids taking baths with a shot of a kid blurred. Of course, this was before it came out that he hadn't worked on the show in a few years. But still, how many times were those kids changed, bathed and potty trained on camera?

I think aside from the headline and first paragraph the Radar article makes it clear that this is not a new scandal. But then the articles that quote it are sensationalizing this to make it seem like a new revelation that should somehow scandalize the Duggars again or that it has anything to do with the Josh revelation, which it doesn't. A coincidence does not a conspiracy make.

For anyone that followed the Kate Gosselin drama this arrest was a huge deal. Kate denied ever meeting Bill and refused to comment. Jon was pissed off and admitted they had met Bill and was freaked out about a man sitting and editing and watching hours of his kids potty training and bathing. Kate silenced Jon's efforts but it did help bring in some advocates for the Gosselin's kids that eventually helped get kids on reality tv more rights.

Bill edited many TLC shows with kids, Kate, 19 kids, Sister wives and table for 12. There was an episode that Kate had visited where their show was edited (that is how she was caught in her lie). Didn't the Duggars visit the same place? Maybe on the episode where they visited the bat factory or Jim Bob riding the ice machine? I know it was on a bus trip they took back east way before the courtships so a few years ago.

I agree. I am still disturbed by the way Jinger broke down at Jessa's rehearsal dinner. I think those kids have been exposed to many, many seedy people. There are so many of them, they're always running wild, and J'chelle always appears to be checked out. Even if those three things were in check, it would still be impossible to keep a head count 24/7 (much less at all), especially when visitors are over. Their house is a revolving door with probably thousands (maybe tens?) of visitors to date, and I would be shocked if nothing (other than the Josh incidents) has happened.

I think it's slightly more than coincidental. Perverts get jobs that allow them access to children; if you work in tv and you're a pedo, chances are you're going to try for a production involving kids.
