The other thread is moving so fast, can we get away with an offshoot for predictions on how this mess will be handled? Let's say 3 months from now?

 

Will the show be canceled?

 

Where will Josh live and work?

 

Will any of the J'kids come out and give their own accounts, or will they all have strict allegiance to mom and dad and keep their mouths shut?

 

I think it'll be canceled, MAYBE with an offshoot show, Josh will be in Arkansas and will probably "go back to school" or "work in real estate." I don't think anyone will come out with their own accounts of what happened in the near future, but I bet someone will within the next few years.

I couldn't see Jslaves talking about it publicly. However, I could see Derick throwing a punch at Josh behind the scenes, and then distancing himself a bit more from the Duggars. I always thought Josh was sleazy but more in a porn addiction, checking out other women way. Not like this!

Anna leaves Josh, perhaps divorces him in NoVA, since probably better divorce laws over AK, plus she could stay there as that was their primary residency for 2-3 years.

TLC insists that all victims and Josh receive counseling with actual trained licensed psychologists.

What I think will happen....

19KAC goes on summer hiatus, TLC decides if things have died down enough to have a new season in the fall. Perhaps the focus turns on the newly married couples.

Sadly, I think there is a real risk of self-harm by Josh and/or Anna. They are dealing with all of this now again with no appropriate counseling or anything of the like. I don't think either one has the coping skills . Josh resigned from FRC and I don't see him having much of an employable future because of this. Anna is screwed with four kids to support, stuck in fundy hell.

End of the week we'll see TLC make their announcement that they're going on "hiatus". 19 Kids as we know it is done... but it might be rebranded as the Ben and Jessa show....

Josh will probably already be in AK by now. Hopefully, Anna will take the kids and spend some time with her family and give a good hard think about how she wants her life to be.

No new solo accounts... the girls are gonna hunker down and stay sweet. Buuuut I'm hoping they'll be twisting their parents arms a bit with threats of going public with stuff.

I wonder if it's gonna stop with this or if there's gonna be more dirt coming out... JB is bound to have pissed off a few people in his day would would LOVE to help tumble him some more.

I worry a bit about the well-being of Josh and Anna as well right now - there's got to be a lot of stress in that house.

Everyone will circle the wagons for the time being. I think eventually, when there's no more money, the older girls will write a book.

Now that Josh has confessed, I don't see how the show can stay on the air. Everyone in the family has been tainted by this in some way, even the little kids who were born after the incident (not saying they are guilty, but the perp is their brother and the victims are their sisters, which makes it an even more difficult situation). No one except the most delusional leghumpers can believe that the Duggars are a "wholesome Christian family."

I think that JB and Michelle will try to lead as quiet a life as possible and live off their earnings from their other businesses. Assuming these businesses do fairly well, the Duggar boys will be able to find work, although they may not live as well as they might have with TLC money. Josh will work behind the scenes at some Duggar business in Arkansas and disappear from public view for the foreseeable future. I think this coming out in the open may force JB and Michelle to revisit this incident and "get real" with some of their kids, especially the J'slaves. This fall from grace may cause some of the kids to re-evaluate Gothardism and their parents' teachings, although it may be years before anyone breaks. Derrick may try to distance himself from JB, but Ben is pretty much stuck since he doesn't have a job and probably assumed before this that he could work for JB. Maybe this will motivate Ben to break away from JB and start his own storefront church while working on other qualifications.

I think they will just revamp the show, maybe just focus more on the married girls.

I think Josh will be forced to move back to Arkansas and start his own " repentance camp" for boys who also "lost the way to Jesus" probably something unproductive though lime a work camp not anything therapy related.

They will eventually say something the PR team from TLC wrote for them that's vage and doesn't actually say anything but it sounds good. I think if any do come out with the truth jessa will write a tell all maybe 5 or 10 years from now after they are out of TLC cash flow

The problem with having a spin off show of any sort is that the cloud of past molestation is still there. This story is now on tops on Google news and many of the outlets are reporting that Josh's sisters were among the victims. People are going to see the J'slaves and think about what happened, which doesn't bode well for the future of a light, fun show about twenty-something young women. The Duggars can't continue on as they have been, and neither is the "we'd prayed over this and everything is better" going to work either. The gravy train is over.

I don't think they can get away with how they are handling this. "Joshie made an oopsy, but he's CLOSER TO GOD now! What victims?" There's only so many times you can say "but Jesus!" before people start to realize what you're doing. The Duggars have a lot of nerve talking about child predators when they couldn't protect their own daughters from their idiot son.

There are a few positives I think that will eventually come out of all of this.

+ The kids who don't want to be public will have more of an opportunity to stay off camera and out of the public light. Assuming they keep the show with the "next generation", they will probably focus on Jill/Jessa and not the stuff at the TTH. That means the littles get to be little kids not on camera again.

+ I don't see Siah sticking with the courtship tbh... and the rumors of JD/Jinger/Joe courting will just stay rumors.. no new weddings for a while. That's good imo

+ IF Ben and Derek are gonna cut those Duggar cords, now is the time to do it and do it with little resistance. Ben just got an associates in business. It's no Harvard Law Degree, but it is pretty employable. Derek does have a cushy job away from Duggar land. It is very possible for them to make it on their own.

TLC will issue some vague statement about the show being on hiatus while they evaluate their options. The show just won't show up on the fall schedule but there won't be an explicit announcement that it's canceled.

Boob will give Josh some job that will keep him out of the public eye for an extended period of time, like bookkeeping from a private office. Perhaps there will eventually be a Jimmy Swaggart-esque public breast-beating and Redemption Tour (still waiting for the Doug Phillips Is A Tool Redemption Tour).

Sadly, nothing else will change because the Duggars don't think anything needs to--after all, Jesus has forgiven them, right?

It makes me sick to type this, but If TLC was going to cancel or was thinking about it, we wouldn't have a marathon on right now. They pulled Honey Booboo off the air overnight. I can only hope the outage over this changes their minds. Of course if sponsors bail that will speak louder than we are.

Anna is stuck. There is no way her parents would allow her to divorce. FUCKERS. Anna if you read here, RUN. Be a real mother and protect your children. There are organizations that will help you.

Jana? Jinger? Change the locks. Throw out your so called parents. There are so many people right now who want to help you.

And TLC? I know you have some intern assigned to read this forum. Do the right thing. For the girls. It would be the first time in their lives that's been done.

I can't see how the show can continue. Michelle, Jim Bob, the children still living at home, Josh, and Anna will fall deeper down the rabbit hole. They'll still make personal appearances but it will be more like a redemption tour in Gothard type settings than most of the appearances they make now. Many of the younger kids will eventually break away and speak out. My gut says Jessa would support her parents and their beliefs longer than Jill. Ben and Jessa have proven then have no problem looking like idiots in the press. Jill strikes me reflect on the attention the situation is getting and maybe take the concern others are expressing for the girls in the family to heart.

My predictions: Show gets cancelled. Marjorie & Josiah courtship ends. Josh and Anna move back to Arkansas to live in the house they bought. Family appearance at Alive Festival in June is cancelled.

My hope: Joseph returns to Crown College in the fall; perhaps even stays with the Bates part of the summer. Other siblings start becoming real interested in going away to school---Crown College, Pensacola Christian, etc. Hopefully at least one goes away to college in the fall.

hard to tell but I think they are like ducks and water. If nothing else all the leghumpers and other Christians will forgive them and praise them for how well they handled it. The only long term suffering will be the girls he molested.
