The Family Leader's endorsement up for sale?

Recommended Posts

Apparently The Family Leader in Iowa was asking for $1 million dollars for his endorsement. He also asked Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann to drop out.

I'm bumping this because it's blowing up all over the place.

Iowa Christian conservative leader Bob Vander Plaats didn’t require money in exchange for his endorsement, he said Thursday, but presidential candidate Rick Santorum says Vander Plaats told him “he needed money†to promote his eventual endorsement.

The effort to advertise the endorsement has started: Iowans on Thursday began getting robo-calls that feature Vander Plaats’ voice talking up Santorum. The calls say they were paid for by a so-called super PAC, or political action committee, called “Leaders for Families.â€

The situation has raised questions about whether any federal rules that prohibit coordination between a campaign and an outside group were broken.

Vander Plaats also told Bachmann to quit. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1211/70713.html

I think we need to know more about this Bob Vander Plaats. I bet he's got a few skeletons. (Yeah, I have a whole truckload, according to a space alien cult.)
