Some sad news out of Lake City, Iowa.

Thick, black smoke could be seen for miles around Lake City Tuesday as firefighters worked to extinguish flames at Dobson Pipe Organ Builders.

Witnesses to the fire told KCCI that firefighters arrived at Dobson around 4 p.m. The Lake City facility is located approximately two hours northwest of the Des Moines metro in Calhoun County.

The State Fire Marshal's Office said it appears a malfunctioning fan caused sawdust to ignite, sparking the fire.

Only one person suffered injuries.

They put in the new organ at the University of Dubuque and also did some restoration work on my church's organ.
