I needed this laugh! The school is very embarrassed and covered it with a sheet.

Trigger warning for any who are sensitive to cleric abuse. NOTE: I'm not laughing at the idea of abuse. Just at the major statue fail.

That school has had 2 ex-teachers jailed for child sexual abuse in the past decade or so.

To be fair, it was the artist thought it was okay, not the school. The school is on record as saying that the plan looked okay on paper but the 3 dimensional version wasn't so good.

I can hardly believe it. The body language of the two characters are all kinds of wrong, especially for a statue that should represent a saint that should intercede for racial harmony. The saint stares in the void in front of him, completely ignoring the child that with an adoring/slavish/hungry gaze reaches for the bread that the priest is carelessly holding. Personally I'd have big problems with this statue even if there wasn't an unfortunate sexual innuendo.
