Smuggar's ex-boss Tony Perkins' home destroyed in LA flooding

So if a natural disaster happens to heathens, it's God's punishment, and if it happens to the righteous, then God is to be praised for testing their faith. I get it. Not

Yeah these clowns get real quiet when some sort of disaster befalls them or tie themselves in logical and theological knots trying to explain how it's not God punishing them.

Oh my. How ironic. I don't feel bad for him. I hope this guy lost every damn thing in that flood. If only the same could happen to Josh's house...

Because this disaster happened to him, of course it couldn't be god's wrath on the gays. Thousands of people lose all their possessions and homes are supposed to just chalk it up to a next level spiritual exercise? :angry-teeth:  For the foreseeable future, these families will be the subjects of disaster porn from outsiders, devastation porn from the media, and a stab in the back from the insurance companies. This tragedy's purpose is to help their walk with Jesus? Bump Tony Perkins and his hateful :obscene-tolietclaw: . May a gracious god send hungry gators his way.

Is it only his faith that is being tested? Did god destroy countless lives to test Tony's faith? Just like god destroyed lives in the tornado that was sent specifically for the generation cedar chick?

What an awful god to destroy lives in order to test his chosen ones.

God is omnipotent and omniscient and able to multitask. He can test Tony's faith,  smite godless heathens and engage in a pissing contest with the Devil at the same time.

But Perkins, who once blamed the Boston marathon bombing on "sexual liberalism" in Massachusetts, is still trying to figure out why God targeted him and his family.

"We’re gonna look for what God’s gonna do in this," Perkins told FRC's Washington Watch radio show. "I’m asking those questions and I’m going to see."

Perkins — who's also declared that natural disasters are acts of God, not consequences of climate change — said his family of seven escaped in a canoe when the water became 10-feet high in their driveway. After being turned away from one shelter, they were taken in for the night by a former member of their church — "in God's provision."

The next day, Perkins and his family were able to return to their property, and they're now living in their motor home. Unlike most other Louisiana residents affected by the flooding, Perkins said crews are already working to repair his house.

Why, Tony? Because karma's a cruel, cruel mistress.

Usually I don't believe in karma and that sort of thing, but this is just endless schadenfreude for me. He's getting a long-overdue taste of his own medicine.

Maybe God targeted Perkins to punish him for being a hateful, bigoted, mean spirited, vile monster who wishes destruction on anyone not exactly like him and who employed and defended Smugger the Molester & Adulterer.

Or you know it's just rain and climate change.

Not that Perkins isn't all of the things I mentioned.

I have friends down there and it is an absolute disaster. My boyfriend nearly lost his house and did end up losing his new car, and his family lost their vehicles as well. I'm going down next week to help out as much as possible, but I'm sure I'm nowhere enough prepared for the devastation. It's utterly heartbreaking what the people of Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, etc have survived. That being said, some people need a good dose of reality and this dude is one of them.

I live within 50 miles of the affected areas. The flooding isn't over. I get the dislike for the guy but there are people on this board that are dealing with this right now and sometimes a little sensitivity should be used. Now, if they would find a reason to send him to jail (nonviolent so no victim), I could get behind that. If he could of had 30 inches of water dumped on his house alone over 24 hours, I could get behind that. But not finding pleasure in something of this magnitude that's affects so many people. At least wait until they get a final death toll

I didn't realize this jackass lived here.  He and ones like him are those we try to keep out in the back pasture so they don't further damage what decent reputation we've got.

I've got no sympathy for him.  Reminds me of when Pat Robertson said Katrina happened because Ellen DeGeneres is from NOLA.  I've got no love for folks like that.

I don't think anyone is finding pleasure in the event happening in the region. Tony Perkins is someone who in the past has blamed natural disasters and traumatic events on God's wrath - I think FJ'ers find humor in the irony this supposed Godly man is experiencing similar hardships as those he deems lesser than him.

Anyways, hope this causes Tony to do some soul searching, but I highly doubt he has the intellectual capacity to do so.

The problem with zealots is that they're firmly convinced that they are right, so I doubt this will do anything but make him more rabid. I can't imagine hanging onto so much hate while claiming you're a Christian. It's the opposite of what Christ stood for.

Tony Perkins doesn't have a soul to search for.

And I agree; what's happening in LA is awful and so many people have lost everything; that's not anything to take joy in. But I will find humor in the leader of a hate group who politicized natural disasters for his own hateful rhetoric getting a taste of his own medicine.

I am just stopping by to leave one of my favorite songs. If there are any FJ people in the Lafayette area that need help please send me a message. My sister stayed dry and can possibly help.

I wonder if he'll come out with some major sin confession and say it was the reason his home was destroyed.  Of course the sin wouldn't be his doing, but his wife's.
