Oh, Pastor James Manning, you’re the gift that just keeps on giving. This guy is the one who put up a sign telling black women that gays would take their men. That Obama has released the “homo demons.†That Starbucks was putting semen in their lattes. I seriously worry about this man’s mental state. Perhaps if he acted on those gay urges he’s admitted to, he’d get it all out of his system.

This time the head of the ATLAH World Missionary Church in the Harlem area of New York City is gearing up for a new Civil War. Not metaphorically. No, he means a real, honest-to-god, marching-Confederate-troops-in-uniforms Civil War. To “rescue the North.†Yeah.

“Surely the Confederates and the South will win this time. There’s no doubt about it. They will win this time. Now the nation must be rescued from the liberal God-haters and Constitution-haters and those that are pushing this sodomy agenda. America will be rescued and the rescuers will be the Confederates, the Southerners, those that have been the blood-washed, Bible-believing, locked-and-loaded. I’m James David Manning and I want to be one of them. I’m the Lord’s servant.â€

Those marchers, he says, will descend upon the Supreme Court and even the White House. They will storm the White House! Manning assures us that a Confederate flag will fly over the mansion. This eventuality is as “real as your breakfast cereal†(no, really, he said that). And it won’t stop there: the stars and bars will fly over every city, every state capitol. But, they are being rescued, remember; the whole country will be rescued. By the Confederates. Let that sink in for a moment.

Manning, who is spending the 4th of July holiday with Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers, has it in for fellow preachers Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, too. They shouldn’t be allowed, according to Manning. Nor should Harvard, which “teaches perversion,†“socialism†and “against the Constitution.â€

Tried it once and it didn't work. Get over it boys.

Exactly. Plus, I don't think this preacher would be willing to go into slavery.

Is it too much to ask that people who want to talk about the Confederacy/Civil War at least learn the basics on what happened?

For example, that General Robert E. Lee's decision to invade the North instead of fighting a defensive war on familiar ground was a key strategical error that played a major part in turning the tide of the war and the eventual defeat of the Confederacy (that campaign ended in the Battle of Gettysburg, in which entire Confederate units were decimated).

You could argue, and some people do, that Lee's invasion of the Union lost the war.

So, you know, if you WANT the Confederacy to win, invading the North is exactly what you SHOULD NOT DO. Best follow the advice of General Longstreet and defend your borders.

(This isn't even going into the other factors such as industry, population that could be drafted into service, infrastructure, ports, and new technologies, all of which were huge factors in the Confederate loss, and all of which STILL favor the Union)

Full Disclosure: Posted by the Northern born and bred great-great-great-great-granddaughter of a Union soldier who fought at Gettysburg, marched to the sea, and helped occupy Atlanta.

Seriously dude, invading the North is never a good life choice. Then again, neither is supporting a way of thinking that would see you, your entire family, and an entire race of people forced into slavery. I could be wrong though - I mean, you did reveal the horrific news that I have secretly been guzzling semen in my coffee for years!

Honestly, they probably would have lost either way and it was a gamble they took. It looks like there would have been a high likelihood of the Southern army starving if they hadn't gone north. A couple of smarter decisions at Gettysburg and no Gen. Custer and they might have rolled straight to Washington.
