He is kind of right. Science during Middle Ages and early Renaissance was inherently connected to religion. So much so that Witch Trials were considered scientific during their time. But I doubt that's what he meant. It also disrecads whole religion influencing all of those principles. Heliocentrism and roundness of Earth was discovered during Ancient Greece, before it there was some ideas about other models. What I'm trying to say is that if I tilt my head just right and squint my eyes he was right but I doubt this is what he ment.
