Godly sex is not for enjoyment, but for having children!

I use to get him and Doug Philips mixed up. Where on earth did his wife find him? Is he still more with the Vision Forum crowd? Doesn't sound like he's any fun in bed.

The more they preach that any woman and any man, if obedient to God and tossed together by their parents or church can have a "good" christian marriage. Voddie says you may be miserable in your marriage, and that may be God's wish for you. These people say you shouldn't enjoy sex even in marriage.

So, you are beaten from about 3 months of age, taught very little about the rest of the world, tossed into a marriage of duty and no joy, and taught to beat your children (kill that human connection just like you are killing the connection with your spouse). LIsten to the cult leader, get some reward mixed with punishment from time to time and maybe have some emotional release at church (depends on the church).

Wow, how miserable these people must be.

I can only imagine that God laughs her ass off when she hears utter nonsense like this.

how convenient that he, as a man, gets to enjoy procreative sex because he orgasms when he ejaculates (google tells me that its possible to ejaculate without orgasming but its rare, any males here have comment?) but a woman can easily get pregnant without orgasming.

I remember a crazy ex FLDS man on another forum insisting that FLDS men ejaculate without orgasm and thus procreate without lust.

I had that problem when my food allergies were at their worst. All good feelings would stop and I just made a mess and if lucky could keep going and finish once I recovered after a minute. It really sucked and was no fun at all perfect for fundies. It would even be better if they only had children without having sex at all

Yeah because in Song of Songs when she says I am a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favor it was merely a reference to fertility signs. Lust was never praised. Nobody ever enjoyed sex in the Bible.

It's pie in the sky when you die.

Isn't this the reasoning the Catholic Church uses against birth control and masturbation?

No. In not one but two pre-Cana (pre-marriage counseling) workshops, we were told that the main purpose.of a Catholic marriage is companionship and support.

OMG, that letter shown in the post was insane!

Literal belief in a "sex demon"?

If I read it right, these are folks blaming a guy whose wife died of CANCER for somehow killing her by having too much good, consensual sex? WTF is wrong with people?

Wow, do these people not care if their god is a bit of a dick!?

So the only sign of lust is an orgasm??

So are animals practicing lust as they have orgasms? The stupid misery these people put themselves through to show god how great they are.

My husbands oldest brothers wife (technically our sister-in-law, but I try to avoid saying things that sound like we might be related in any way), apparently told the youngest sister that sex is only for in marriage (which they all believe) to make babies. This lady married a man (husbands brother) who looked at porn and proudly told people about his sex toys, laughed at nudity in movies and swore like the best of them. Now he is holier than thou. It's not just Fundys believing this, unfortunately.

Song of Solomon is like porn if you really know what the symbols mean. It's the one book that never gets quoted in church.

I have a couple of friends who chose it as one of the texts for their wedding. I asked how much the preacher blushed while reading it. A lot, apparently.

Most of the commenters agree that Doug Wilson's views are idiotic but on poster, Bystander, keeps trying to defend him.

The way I understood DW’s statement was, that when sex is reduced to “fun†it loses its larger purpose. To me, the metaphors he employed were describing the mechanics of it. We even refer to inanimate objects (for example, electrical plugs) as male and female.

God has the authority to mock. Jesus has the authority to mock. I do not.

Sex is for fun or else why have sex? Orgasims are wonderful things and I shouldn't be denied them just because I am a woman.

I did, at my first wedding. In those days, the priest did all the readings, and it was a tad amusing to see this sedate middle-aged gentleman do Song of Songs.

      Hello,

I'm brand new to this forum. It was suggested to me by former and outspoken Remnant Fellowship member (Natasha Pavlovich) that I join this forum and put out here what I do. She also warned me that no one on here trusts, or trusts easily, and that I'd likely be assumed to be a Remnant plant or spy until vetted and verified as not that. Fair enough.
In short, and in truth, I'm a psychotherapist with 25 yrs experience in Franklin TN (less than three miles from RF incidentally) with a special interest in working with people formerly associated with cults, cult-like or any and all high control intitutions. I'm especially interested in working with those desiring not only deconstruct, recover and learn to thrive post-indoctrination, but those desiring to recapture or cultivate an authentic sense of theology without walls, or spirituality with borders.
To date, I've worked with former Amish, Mennonite, LDS/FLDS, FOG, and a those representing a whole slew of evangelical, fire and brimstone fear/shame/guilt-inducing institutions.
I am especially interested in working with former Remnant Fellowship and Scientology members. I view RF as basically Scientology without the budget.
I'll leave it there. Much more can be gleaned about me through my website: therapyoutsidethebox.com or IG: @ therapyoutsidethebox

      Peace,

I'm a huge baseball fan. This year, MLB TV showed Liga Dominicana games in December and January and it was a fucking revelation. The players had so much fire and joy. The announcers with their charming DR accents were a blast, though I could hardly keep up with the Spanish. DItto the Serie del Caribe. As a White Sox fan, the MLB season is going to suffer by comparison. Te amo los Tigres del Licey!

Had ankle surgery on the 22nd and am non-weight-bearing until the 7th, and it would great if I could REMEMBER that I'm not weight-bearing until I try to step on my splinted ankle.
