The more they preach that any woman and any man, if obedient to God and tossed together by their parents or church can have a "good" christian marriage. Voddie says you may be miserable in your marriage, and that may be God's wish for you. These people say you shouldn't enjoy sex even in marriage.

So, you are beaten from about 3 months of age, taught very little about the rest of the world, tossed into a marriage of duty and no joy, and taught to beat your children (kill that human connection just like you are killing the connection with your spouse). LIsten to the cult leader, get some reward mixed with punishment from time to time and maybe have some emotional release at church (depends on the church).

I had that problem when my food allergies were at their worst. All good feelings would stop and I just made a mess and if lucky could keep going and finish once I recovered after a minute. It really sucked and was no fun at all perfect for fundies. It would even be better if they only had children without having sex at all

My husbands oldest brothers wife (technically our sister-in-law, but I try to avoid saying things that sound like we might be related in any way), apparently told the youngest sister that sex is only for in marriage (which they all believe) to make babies. This lady married a man (husbands brother) who looked at porn and proudly told people about his sex toys, laughed at nudity in movies and swore like the best of them. Now he is holier than thou. Most of the commenters agree that Doug Wilson's views are idiotic but on poster, Bystander, keeps trying to defend him.

The way I understood DW’s statement was, that when sex is reduced to “fun†it loses its larger purpose. To me, the metaphors he employed were describing the mechanics of it. We even refer to inanimate objects (for example, electrical plugs) as male and female.

God has the authority to mock. Jesus has the authority to mock. I do not.

Sex is for fun or else why have sex? Orgasims are wonderful things and I shouldn't be denied them just because I am a woman.

I did, at my first wedding. In those days, the priest did all the readings, and it was a tad amusing to see this sedate middle-aged gentleman do Song of Songs.
