I adore Sesame Street's parodies. My first-year English prof would even show Monsterpiece Theatre in class. "Waiting for Elmo", indeed.

Grover's Old Spice commercial is still my all-time favorite. Kermit and the 39 Steps is in the top ten, too. I think there's a DVD of all the parodies, maybe it should be on my Xmas list. (Would give the in-laws something to talk about, after the "provocative language" in the Wil Wheaton book that was on my birthday list. )

So true, after all these years. When it debuted, my little sister was 5 and I was a college freshman majoring in elementary ed. My mom was intrigued by its cleverness and urged me to watch it.

We (all three of our kids plus husband and I) have been digging the pop song covers. "Share It, Maybe", and "But Me Wait". We were holding out hope for a "Gangnam Style" one, but alas...
