Sums it up. Even if the baby had been girl nothing changes at all. She needs to do basic research though... Every commonwealth nation has to agree before anything changes just so they won't have the issue of multiple sovereigns later. it's a moot point now I think.

I was kind of hoping for a girl because it would make the change to the succession tangibly real rather than theoretical, but then I remembered I'll be dead (or close to it) by the time this kid gets the throne, if we haven't become a republic by that point anyway. Either way, I'd hope that by the time William pops his clogs feminism will have reached the point where we don't need a pointless female figurehead to serve as a role model.
