The guy's name is Bradlee Dean, which sounds familiar for some reason. Apparently he said some things on her show about Muslims and homosexuals that he claims they were edited in a bad light.

I don't know if it was edited or not, but as some wise reality show contestant once said, "they can't edit what you don't say."

You want to feel worse about the world in general? Read the comments to the article. They're vile.

I can't read the comments. I like my hair and I don't want to pull it out.

I bet Rachel told him he couldn't pray away the gay and refused to pay him to try, and so he decided to try and get his money another way.

She used his exact words yet he is claiming that she took them out of context. He's an idiot who is angry that he got called out.

This is what he said. HOw do you take this out of context?

The minister claims that his on-air statement: "Muslims are calling for the execution for homosexuals in America, this was just released yesterday and it shows you that they themselves are upholding the laws that are even in the Bible, the Judeo Christian God. They seem to be more moral than even the American Christians do" was edited out of context.

Under what condition could this not be a vile thing to say?

Okay, I'm pretty sure all of our witches here are good witches, but would any of you consider making an exception for this douchecanoe?

Calling down a roaring case of jock itch on him sounds like a good place to start.

*Kidding.

**Mostly.

This is from his site.

My War: The My War documentary series is a series like none other. This unique documentary encompasses the huge spectrum of issues we face in our society today and takes you back to the foundation of our country, to give understanding and clarity of who our Founders were and their true intentions when they established this Judeo-Christian nation. Watch as Bradlee Dean and his crew go into the public school system with the truth, while exposing the lies being thrown on our young, and watch the contention build!

This documentary will give you insight into topics such as:

• Our Founding Fathers

• The Constitution

• What your kids are being taught in public schools

• The myth of alcoholism

• Abortion

• Drug abuse

• Hollywood and the moral decline of our nation

• The spiritual heritage and foundation of the United States

• The lies in the media and much more

• And last but not least, see the YCRBYCHI crew being kicked out of schools, even being escorted by police, for hitting on the topics above!

Witness first-hand some of the 331 high school assembly programs done by Bradlee Dean and his crew, and watch in disbelief as you see an agenda that attacks the truth at all costs and will say or do just about anything to push an illegal agenda on the American people. Little did they know that we had our cameras on them the whole time! My War not only shows you the problems that our nation faces today, but will also give you the answers you need to take action! The My War documentary series will not leave you feeling hopeless and helpless, but empowered and emboldened to stand up and fight, as David did to Goliath, and win the day! Perfect viewing for all ages, this documentary is a series every household in America needs to have. My War will bring you to the fight, lay out the battle plans and equip you to make a difference!

So, he went into a public school and tried to have a religious assembly and was outraged that he was kicked out?

Okay. According to this article, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/27/rachel-maddow-sued-by-chr_n_911407.html, this is what Bradlee Dean actually said:

"Muslims are calling for the execution of homosexuals in America. They themselves are upholding the laws that are even in the Bible, the Judeo-Christian God, but they seem to be more moral than the American Christians do. Because these people are livid about enforcing their laws. They know homosexuality is an abomination. If America won't enforce the laws, God will raise up a foreign enemy to do just that."

The article goes on to say:

"Dean charged Maddow with deliberately ignoring a disclaimer that he issued which stressed that he was not calling for gay people to be killed. He said Maddow's airing of his statement caused "serious" harm to him and the ministry he runs.

Actually, Maddow did read the disclaimer--"we have never and will never call for the execution of homosexuals"--just after airing Dean's statement."

So it seems that Mr. Dean admires Muslims for performing a religious duty that Christians refuse to do. That is, calling for the execution of homosexuals. While at the same time he claims that he would never ever call for the execution of homosexuals.

Fundies give me psychological whiplash.

ETA: Oops. I see I've cross-posted with some people.

I tried to read the comments. Most of them were so incredibly ignorant, unfounded, and obnoxious I wanted to break something. What kept me from it was the handful of intelligent, calm, educated, sensible answers that showed up just as I was about to lose it. I still had to stop reading though. *shudder*

Wow, reading more about these people, they got into schools in Wisconsin and Minnesota under anti-drug and abstinence programs, then preached whatever the fuck they wanted (anti-gay, mostly) from the stage.

I found community board posts about them going back several years.

I love how these people basically say, "Stop using what I said against me!"

Ah, that reminds me of when Taliban Tony showed up to play.

I'm not a fan of Rachel Maddow, but this is just asinine. If you don't like your own words being used against you, then maybe you should watch what you say. That way it won't come back to bite you in the ass.

"Up until 2008" - classy, Bradlee Dean. And I'm sure you retracted that after and said that you didn't mean that Obama wasn't a Christian when people argued with you.

For the millionth time - he's not a Muslim! And even if he was - it wouldn't matter!

Up until that point, I thought he was being fairly reasonable...he wasn't blatantly evil or anything. Mostly.
