"In Progress"

Here's a pic to show the page I'm currently working on from the "Owls" book.  Am having to take a lot of breaks due to eye strain from using my work computer, my laptop, doing photography, and coloring!  Am working on it, but it's going to be awhile.

Wolf Pup

With some trepidation, I post this little doodle I did.  I mostly just (attempt to) draw little cartoony animals and I rarely color them or even get them out of the "rough" stage.   I was looking through my drawing journal and came across this little guy that was actually finished.   This picture sucks because I had to use my tablet.   I'm going to have to give up and charge the batteries for my real camera, I think.

The Owl & The Pussycat Went To Sea...

Just finished this one!  The holiday time off has given me the opportunity to color, color, color!   Hope I'm not hogging the blog with my posts.  Once again, the original page's colors are more vivid, but I did the best I could to get a good photo to post.  This is from the Owls book by Creative Haven.

Cuckoo Clock Cat!

My latest finished page from the Creative Cats book...my favorite coloring book so far.  I love her designs!  Am now working on a page in her Owls book, the one with the Owl and the Pussycat in their boat.

App Colouring - New Textures!

I'm away from my real life colouring, but wanted to share that my app, Adult Coloring, has added some background textures. This is 'watercolour' but there are others such as 'brick' and 'leather'. Kind of fun.

Animal Crackers

This great blog has inspired me to think about drawing my own stuff to color again!  Here's one of my originals from a few years back, colored with Prismacolor markers.  I'm not that great at drawing, but I love coloring!

Meerkats Unite!

Just finished this page tonight. It's from the NatureScapes book.  Am working on the cuckoo clock cat page from the Creative Cats book now.   I  know meerkats aren't really red...but these are.      Prismacolor  and Winsor & Newton markers.  Just  can't seem to get a photo that accurately reproduces the colors, but I tried. The actual page is better.

App Coloring - Mandala Flowers

So, I figured I'd try out coloring on apps so I can work on my color coordination/matching. Work in progress. I don't think the green (or the purple, actually) works but I can't seem to get a feel for what does work. Any feedback for this poor old gal who faked kindergarten? (I'll happily solve a math problem. Artistic stuff? That's my calculus - it's hard, y'all!)

Indian Mandala

I started with the center part.  Set this aside.  And returned to it last night.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it so I did the purple.  Then out to the green on the edges and the orange parts.  Then I tried edging in the gold glitter, liked it and went a bit glitter happy.  Finished with the red in the rays and the yellow at the center.    Indian Mandalas Frixion Gel Pens except the gold glitter which is from:  Super Doodle

Still life

I coloured it so I may as well post it. Coloured pencils with attempts at shading.

FJ is a total life suck!

I did this with the Sargeant glitter gel pens. I loved using them. I messed up with the silver background because it really shows where I went over the black lines. I don't think you can tell in the photo how pretty and glittery it is!

Top Hat Cat/Creative Cats Book

My latest effort from the Creative Cats coloring book...my favorite book so far.  Prismacolor, Winsor-Newton, and Staedtler fineliner markers. Just got the owl book by the same artist and am working on a page in the NatureScapes book right now.

Round and round in circles

From the book "Mandala Meditations," using these gel pens. I don't even want to confess how long it took me to finish this ... and I'm running out of red ink!

Eleventy Million Circles

I received my gel pens this morning, which resulted in the house not getting cleaned today. I really wanted to do a full glitter picture, but they crapped out on me!  I wonder if they just don't work on that particular paper. Anyway, the others were fine and I like the result. Next picture will not be the same colours (apparently I like them)!   Now I just have to decide whether to fill in background. Will coloured pencil background look terrible on gel pen picture??

Cats in Colorify

As mentioned in one of the comments on another post, I wanted to install colorify on my husband's phone for when we are out somewhere.  I've been trying to get my husband interested in coloring for ages and it's been pretty unsuccessful     He will help me pick out colors and once he colored 4 whole dots on one of my pages while waiting at the dr. to see if I'd notice (lol). Yesterday while waiting for me at the dr., he said he'd install colorify for me, so I told him how it worked and he actua

Garden in Colorfy

I have a coloring app called, Colorfy. It's really fun for "coloring" while you're out and just want to kill some time.  I did this one today.

Primary Mandala - In three stages

My intent was to do this in red and blue, leaving the white page as the third 'colour'.   Then I thought, what the hell, let's add a pop of yellow. And, in the end, I found I couldn't leave the interior background white after all. I struggled a bit trying to colour in such small areas. There are 315 tiny 'spokes' (yes, I counted) and I despised each and every one, and got a little sloppy just trying to get them finished. The whole thing is a bit messy as I had trouble staying inside the lines

Pastel Paisley

This is my first actual colouring picture. I think it's not bad for a first effort. I love the colours but I could have done a better job distributing them. In the end, I decided to colour in the background, which was a pain in the ass and my hand. As a result, I don't think I can cook dinner tonight, so will be purposing to have DH take me to local pub for recuperation.   (Critiques absolutely welcome so I can improve.)

Not So Blue

Okay, so when I started this one, I was thinking... BLUE, I like Blue today.  Blue is speaking to me.  And then once I started in the middle with blue discovered that my Crayola Twistables 30 count has exactly 2 shades of blue.  Very close together.  I could probably forgive the only 2 blues if one had been something like navy.  But no.  Two middle blues.  So in progress I altered the plan and went with colors to compliment the blue.  RE the purple in the lower corners - I thought the pattern on

Under the Sea

I found this, halfway completed, over the weekend. I finished the last few touches tonight. I think this is one of my favorite pages so far. I just love the way it turned out.  It's another one from Joanna Basford's, Lost Ocean. I used Fiskar's gel pens and Gelly Roll pens.
