"In Progress"

Here's a pic to show the page I'm currently working on from the "Owls" book.  Am having to take a lot of breaks due to eye strain from using my work computer, my laptop, doing photography, and coloring!  Am working on it, but it's going to be awhile.  :my_shy:

It already looks wonderful!  The colours are perfect. Really. I look forward to finished page. Man, you are good!

Beautiful, as always.   I like seeing the works in progress as much as the finished ones I think.

I also wish my markers would get here already because I NEED those vibrant colors.   I feel like my stuff is so dull now lol

I think I had my first marker causality today...right in the middle of a page, of course.   I'm in a bit of denial of it being out of ink so have it still sitting here to try once more before I toss it.

Has anyone tried using a lighted magnifying mirror by chance?  I really do have trouble seeing what I'm doing and the eye strain is not good at all. My fantasy would be to magnify page and not have to wear my reading glasses. Is this possible?

I don't know why I said mirror. I just mean a magnifying light?

Your post gave me a boost!  Thanks so much...glad you like the way it's going.  About the lighted magnifying glass, if you work at a desk it would probably be helpful. I color lying in bed and I bought a small desk light that's flexible in every direction and has a clean white light with no color cast. I always use it when coloring. I prop my book against a pillow on my stomach close to me and look over my glasses to see the page up close. Still need to keep the glasses on so I can see my markers lying to my right...am very near-sighted!

Thank you very much for your kind and encouraging words!  I would like to see more of everyone's works in progress also.  My new markers are supposed to come on Wednesday...paid a little extra to get them a bit sooner.  What kind of markers and what colors did you order?  I think my new Arctic Blue Winsor & Newton is starting to act up and I haven't used it much at all.  Annoying!  The emerald green Prismacolor I recently ordered from a vendor fulfilled by Amazon arrived at our house as dry as a bone.  They gave me a refund, but it was a disappointment. That color is one of the ones coming on Wednesday from Blick.

I wish I'd paid the $4 extra to get mine sooner.  I think they aren't due to get here until the 18th or something like that *whimper*

I ordered an embarrassing amount from blick, but the prices were too good to pass up on.   I ordered a few in the browns because I don't seem to have a very good selection of browns.  I also ordered 3-4 different greys.   I ordered the ones you recommended that they had available and then I just tried to fill in gaps going with the more vibrant colors.   I ordered a mix of windsor & newton, prismacolor premiere and blick brand dual tips.

I dug my camera out today, so I'm going to post drawings on my blog in a minute here.  I don't want to spam this blog with my unfinished doodles :)

Let me know what you think of the Blick markers.   I should have ordered some browns and a few more neutral colors, but I can't seem to resist the vivid colors!  They draw me like a moth to a flame.  I did order two greys a little while ago specifically for the Creative Cats book to use for the kitties and I used them for the first time on the cat in the owl & pussycat design from the Owls book that I posted.

There are lots of magnifying lights at craft stores. My mom has one like this in her sewing room. It drives me nuts but she likes/needs it (I'd rather get glasses like surgeons have)

I'm excited!  I just checked my order which was supposed to be here between the 7-18 or something like that and it is scheduled to be here Friday  *happy dance*

Once I get them and get things sorted I'll let you know what I think of them.  I also ordered a few Koi (Sakura) ones as well, apparently.

Just got my Blick order!   Prismacolor brush tips:  Emerald Green, Peacock Blue, Violet Mist, Parma Violet, Imperial Violet, Cherry, & Pale Vermillion.  Very excited!  All of them work and look great on the test page.

My heart breaks for them. I hope the whole family, kids included, gets what they need.

That honeymoon cannot have been cheap. To leave so early, man that's a huge waste.

That they'd be willing to waste such money to leave early says a lot about how badly it was going.

I hope Jessa is able to take her own feedback when deciding future reproductive decisions. It doesn’t mean she should stop because I think she should, but if she’s too overwhelmed to leave the house that isn’t good. It can affect her mental health and by extension her kid’s.

My hair is a deep dark brown with gray streaking through. I had always dyed it, since my 20's. I would get highlights, lowlights, you name it. It always seemed to dye too warm and orange-ish, and I'd have to use blue shampoos and try and get it done ashier the next time. Well, as luck would have it, a few years ago I developed an allergy to several types of dye. I was so sad, because I was afraid my gray would make me look old. My hair is finally grown out and the original color is this super dark brown and the grays look like- ashy highlights! It's much more flattering with my skin tone and I'm about to be a grandma for the first time anyway so I'm at peace with the graying. All that money and effort, I wish I would've had the confidence to just be myself when I was younger.

I’m not there yet. And I’m to the point where I need to go every 4 weeks- not 1 day more. It is the 1 luxury that I hang onto. No housekeeper, no mani/pedis except when I go to So America where I can get both done, at home, for $20 bucks- same for massages.

That was exactly my thought. I hated leaving the house with two young kids. All those car seats, car sickness, and the constant complaining. Along with remembering to pack diapers, wipes, and other crap babies need. I also hated to nurse in public. So I felt like I was on house arrest for a full year.

The carseat  buckling/unbuckling and shoes, because you know those little buggers love to take off their shoes would make any car outing beyond the ones that were absolutely necessary truly unpalatable.
