First Picture - Mandala

I started this picture in August and have just been coloring little bits at a time. I didn't have clear plan other than I wanted to try out gel pens (cheap ones from Walmart..some were glittery) and I wanted it to be bright. I made a few "mistakes" here and there but I don't really mind. So here's my first submission to the blog. It's not very exciting. I was too lazy to scan it so it's just a photo from my phone. It's from this book.

Bubble Gum Cat

Just finished this one last night. I love the Creative Cats coloring book!  Have already started another page. Tried several settings on my little point and shoot camera, but the colors still aren't reproducing exactly as the on the actual page...the colors on the page look better in person!

Free Coloring Page of The Week ~ 11.16.15

To make up for being late last week, I'm early this week      I know a lot of members have kiddos that also like to color so I decided to offer patterns this week and adults and kids could enjoy coloring together.   I've provided both a boy and girl type pattern so that the kids have a choice.   If any of you do these pages with your kids, I'd love to see the kid's work as well as your own

Look what came Whovians will get this.

My colouring book came only been waiting on it for 3 days and I have completed two of the drawings as, well I love anything Dr. Son has now stolen said colouring book.  Excuse the mess I've made but it was for the artist works hahahahahaha

Blues and Greys of......

I didn't draw this just coloured it in. Daughter found it for me and I was trying to find Tardis blue but I have an array of blues so went for a lot of blues in different shades which kind of worked. All pencil this time.

How would you have done this?

I'm still just on my app but there's something wrong with this. Is it the background colour?  I had a hard time figuring out if those are ears or earrings or both!  I think the pink in there is wrong?

This has been done with watercolour pencils was a bit strange to begin with using them but I kinda liked them in the end. Might do more on it but undecided the now

Starfish Pt. 1

I started this page tonight. This is from Joanna Basford's most recent book, Lost Ocean. It's very detailed, which helps me to slow down.  Question: others who enjoy coloring, do you choose your colors before you begin the project, or do you choose your colors as you go?  I'm choosing as I go along, with this particular page. That's how I usually do it, but this project makes me think that in the future I might want to choose my color scheme first. As I go, I'm getting nervous that I'm not pic

This week's free coloring page reminded me of this project I did some time ago.  This is one of those times where I think I was working my way from the center outward via chakra colors.  Although I think I may have short changed the green heart chakra a bit but I think some of those yellowish greens aren't quite as vivid.

J'aime français

I am American but I also speak French. I love the language and I'm always buying tops with French writing as well as other French themed items and designers. This is why I bought this coloring book, Secret Paris: Color Your Way to Calm, by Zoé de las Cases.  Here's the book and some examples of pages. I was also drawn to this because I love fashion! Cat in Garden

Since we've been talking about the Creative Cats book here lately, I decided to post this page here instead of my own blog.   This was done with colored pencils.  The kitty was done with a tri-color pencil called "tiger."    I really like how it turned out.    This one took me about 3 days to finish, but a lot of that time was staring trying to figure out what colors to use where

I Bought Gel Pens!

Mister @destiny31 and I went to Costco today, and I saw this lovely set of 100 gel pens. I've never coloured with them before so this was a fun little project. I love that I can get bright colours this way! By the way, the pens are the GelWriter 100 set and they were $18,99 at my local Costco. No idea if they are everywhere or not.

Speaking of No Such Thing as Mistakes

Posting this one because it has at least one flaw.  And because when I see it now I'm not happy with the black.  But then I look at it again and I kind of like it.  It just isn't color choices I would make now.  I do like the way the blue I used on the moon pops.  You can see a coloring blooper of some sort (This is an early work and I don't remember what went on with that one section toward the bottom).  Free page I found via Pinterest.  Twistables but a smaller pack than I have now (8 I think

Celitc Knotwork & Kaledeiscopes

Beginner Colorist's Effort

This is my third effort at coloring and it's from the CH Naturescapes book using Prismacolor and Staedtler markers.  Hope the photo looks like the real page...the light in here isn't great.  I love bright, vivid colors and don't care what anything is "supposed" to look like!    Hope I'm posting the pic correctly...

Tree House

I colored this last night while waiting for Law & Order: SVU, Duggars!  I find that these detailed coloring pages really help me with anxiety. They force me to really slow down and focus.  I used Fiskar's gel pens for everything except the tree trunk and branches. For the tree I used a brown Prismacolor colored pencil. This is from Joanna Basford's, Secret Garden.

Free Coloring Page of The Week ~ 11.4.15
