It looks like joy may not have been there because of health problems with their family. They went camping with Austin's family and had a terrible time. Austin had breathing issues because of his Asthma. Gideon was also having breathing issues, which was officially diagnosed as Asthma when Joy took him to the doctor when they got back. The baby was cutting a tooth, which it why he was being fussy. I think joy had her own allergy issues because of all pollen. All the pollen may have made the baby fussy, too, in addition to him cutting a tooth. I guess they picked the wrong weekend to go because they go camping a lot and seem to always have a good time..

I’m the same age as Braggie and I was so glad to be over the baby toddler stage. Her girl twins are the same age as my older son and her son Theo is the same age as my younger son. And she’s had 4 kids since having this kids. I would be so miserable and phoning everything in. If I had 4 more kids. I’m so glad I can focus on my 2 kids and enjoy parenting them.

Hard agree. This is so many of the families I snark on. I have a number of friends who are over having newborns and toddlers and young children in general. And you know what they did as a response to that? They stopped having children! One friend was always a one an done. But another friend became a one and done after going through life with a newborn and realized she could not cope with dealing with that again. So she didn't!

Makayla Landrum Thathcher and her husband are having their 2nd. They are Bates adjacent. Makayla is Josie's best friend and also does hair. I think she has her own salon? Her husband is friends with all the Bates boys. Has stood up in some of their weddings. Cuts their hair because he has his own barbershop. Wanting AZ as the back drop for their announcement photos is part of why they tagged along with Kelton and Josie. Kelton is there for a conference with his work, so Josie and the kids went.

I don't envy Trump's attorneys. Call him "president" when he wasn't and get objections from the DA, or don't call him that and have to deal with the tantrum from him later. And I keep wanting to type "tantrump" which seems appropriate. Hard to change a diaper with long undies on, I bet. But yes, there are ways to deal with the cold. I'd be freezing and complaining too most likely, but I'm not trying to look like a stable professional successful presidential genius who couldn't possibly have done a corruption, either.

That, and even if Joy wasn’t the first official “ little buddy” in their system - 6 1/2 years can be a pretty big gap - especially when there are a ton of both older, younger and middle siblings. And given Jill being a more nurturing, super responsible type, and Joy being an active rough and tumble child - the difference probably felt even bigger.

I think AH and Shaun are just over having to do any of the hard work that parenting requires. If they were in a more standard sized family for our current era, they’d have 3 teenagers and would be free to date and travel at their leisure with less help needed. They are in their 40s and so over running around after 5 little boys and doing all that is required to keep those kids safe, nurtured… Most people who have access to BC and medical care make other, more responsible decisions. What is particularly sad about this situation is AH doesn’t really have a motherly bone in her body- and she’ll admit that this role does not come naturally to her. Having lived through many decades and “seasons”, I thought the 40s were the hardest ones. I had tween aged kids plus peri menopause- the health issues were starting to creep up- it was just not a pleasant time.

That's my assumption too. She's probably had a couple who trained themselves so she's simply too up her own selfies bother spending any amount of time potty training them. And yes, when they get potty trained it will be because a sibling or grandmother did it.

For some reason I thought they'd announced the baby as a boy already. Must be because they kept referring to it as "him" after they said they were planning the gender reveal and not an actual announcement.

Welcome to what women in offices have dealt with for years. While all of my employment has been with schools, my sister was an office worker for a long time. At one point she had a heater hidden under her desk because it was so cold for her. I've heard that offices were kept that cold on purpose since men don't typically get as cold as women and also since men had been wearing suits at the time, so the office needed to compensate for their wearing more clothes.

FTFY Also -- I think Braggie is too lazy/ unconcerned about toilet training the "twinbies". I suspect one of the older BroDads/ SisMoms will decide soon to do it themselves because they are tired of cleaning up poopy diapers, etc. I don't believe for a nano second Braggie does it herself.

There is also a Q-adjacent group who literally think ALL celebrities (except the ones they like, until they stop liking them) are trans individuals. All of them. Literally. They will post a photo of a celebrity couple and point out random meaningless physical features "proving" that the woman was born a man and vice versa. Because... I have no idea. Apparently to become famous at all you have to switch gender? But since all those people have video and photos of them as a child as their assigned gender (because they are cis, not trans) the theory expands to them having been "chosen" (by whatever bogeyman they're on about currently - deep state or illuminati are common ones) and their parents forced to raise them as the opposite gender, or something. I think this part is a combo of jealousy, misogyny, and a heavy helping of racism. They're jealous of celebrities, so have to find a reason they are not normal people who are talented and hard working enough to be successful. Misogyny, because any female celebrity who doesn't 100% fit their narrow physical preferences is first on the list to be "outed" as trans. And racism because a lot of them think Jews are behind the whole deep state thing, and also of course women of color are very often targets of their ire (Venus and Serena Williams, for example, get this a lot). I know that bit is a little off topic of drag storytime, but the fact it exists at all I think is a symptom of the sort of fear and disdain for trans individuals that gets transferred over to drag as well. And that there are a number of people around who are... I don't know. I want to say emotionally stunted, or just angry, or maybe stupid, or misled, or probably ALL those things while also being hateful and glad that these days they don't have to hide their bigotry and hate so much anymore. And of course those people are going to be against drag storytime because of COURSE they are. Literally anything that is not explicitly white, male centered, performatively heterosexual, and the "right" kind of Christian for whatever person we're dealing with is going to piss some people off.
