Carlin & Evan 5 - Carlin Is Still Engaged?

What time is the wedding? Does anyone know? All I can think of looking at that is that if it isn't early in the morning or late in the evening it is going to be hell on earth sitting in the direct sun in nice clothing for a wedding.
  3. What the hell are they even doing in that picture?! Kelton always manages to look like a total and complete asshole. If he had Twitter I bet it would be a Lawson Bates sort of Twitter.
  4. Yes. I like to think most of us learned a valuable lesson from this. I did at least and I like to think I’ll do better in the future if anything like this happens again. It was a chaotic time on the site, but that’s no excuse for how we reacted.

    Seewalds 40 - Here's hoping baby # 3 has a nice name

I am beyond shocked at this!! Can anyone explain why? Would he have washed her feet in return? Just NO! Why, why, why? 😥

    Alyssa & John 3: Modesty Make-Up

Yes! That whole paragraph just speaks to me. This will be my first time giving birth since my daughter was born, so I have no clue how I’ll react. I am scared that I’ll be overly possessive of the baby though. It sounds really stupid, but it still upsets me at times that I missed my daughter’s first diaper change, first feeding, first burping, and some other stuff all because I couldn’t get up to NICU to see her again until 14 hours after the birth. I’m hoping I handle it ok and I’m able to let the Nurses do their jobs if baby doesn’t need NICU this time, but I also remember how possessive I was with my daughter after she was discharged - I had trouble letting other people even hold her and that was something I had to struggle with internally for a while, though I was usually good about not showing it.

A 10 by 40 trailer and 12 yr old cars? Oh, the horror of it all!

    Jinjer 49: Westward Ho!

Most of history very small boys and girls were dressed alike in light dresses till about 4 or 5 they started dressing as smaller adults. It was practical because of toilet training. Who wants to pull down layers of petticoats and stockings or breeches to change a kid?

Bates 26: Do Not Attempt This at Home

Yes, she was. Tabitha Paine lived with the Duggars as their tutor prior to marrying the convicted sexual offender. The Duggar and Bates families attended the wedding, which was held April 1, 2017 (I believe.)

Bates 26: Do Not Attempt This at Home

Wasnt Tabitha(before she married) helping the Duggars and not the Bates?

  12. The time limits mean that even professional bakers can’t succeed. From memory they don’t have blast chillers, which means that the cakes will always still be warm when they begin to decorate. This leads to an automatic fail - icing/frosting melts immediately if you put it anywhere near a cake which hasn’t been chilled for a few hours. And melty frosting means sliding cakes.

Gwen Shamblin 7 - I am the Potato Chip of Life

He was not even remotely successful. I believe he released an album in 2009 (7 years after giving up his acting career to pursue music full time) and it flopped hard, which is to be expected due to the nature of the country music industry. The country music industry in America is impossibly over-saturated and heavily controlled at “the top”. It’s nothing but a “good ole boys” club. In order for someone to successfully break into the industry and make it out “on top”, they require strong established connections, money, and unremarkable skill, all of which Joe lacked/lacks. I do acknowledge that Joe is a relatively decent musician however it takes more than being “decent” to break out. I personally am not aware if he is currently involved with music production within RF, although I highly doubt it. Aside from Michael, BB Barcus (Shania Twain’s former lead guitarist) has been a producer for RF/WD for a very long time. I have to give credit where credit is due; BB is really, REALLY, REALLY good. I HIGHLY doubt Joe has the production experience, skills or musical talent that matches BB’s. To be frank, I am currently chuckling at even the thought of a comparison. Joe may not lead production however it wouldn’t surprise me if he is involved with music in some capacity. According to the research I have done, he is slowly but surely being placed into the position of a simple guitar and voice (for now). Maybe Gwen and Joe have hidden plans and agendas? Maybe he will give a music career a shot again now that he has the financial and musical talent backing of Gwen and RF. Maybe he wants to keep his musical persona separate from RF/Weigh Down? Who knows? We shall see.

Wait for BJ to make you nostalgic for May. Btw I don't understand what triggered May's resignation. Why now? What's different from yesterday or from last month?

Gwen Shamblin 7 - I am the Potato Chip of Life

I don’t have a source and don’t know if I might remembering correctly but I think I read an article where his ex-wife discusses that she contributed to the bulk of the income generated, mortgage payment, etc. and that Joe made his living by being a handy-man. I could be wrong but I recall reading something like that. I hope he is happy. It appears Gwen controls people via her money (and social network) and I’ve heard living that way is miserable.

Melanie Maxwell Baby Update: Deborah Carol Is Here

Okay I have to say it... My name is Deborah and I absolutely hate it. I am a baby-boomer but on the younger side, named when the name was petering out and my mother was a new immigrant to the US. It's fast becoming an old lady name. I started a new job after 20 years with the old one and everyone who met me said, "Oh my mother-in-law's name is Deborah or Debbie" or something to that effect. In 10 years it will be even more so like Phyllis or Shirley. Maybe it will come back in 100 years but I don't think so. I did have a great grandmother named Emma and I thought that was the worst name ever and now it's in the top ten. I know there are those who don't agree with me but since I have had to carry around this name long enough, my opinion should count for something. I have been obsessed with names lately. (I didn't realize until now that my last post was about names. I would totally be down for a thread about names. A friend told me that all Debbie's are obsessed with names and why not? There were a million of us around (more than all the Jessica's and Ashley's in the sky) and there were unfortunate connotations like "Debbie Downer" and "Debbie does Dallas." Even Sponge Bob named his sea horse Debbie after declining Grace or Majesty. So they get negative points for the name. My guess is that they are naming the peanut after someone in the family and don't want to admit it.

So Ken is saying it's soooooo godly to live in substandard housing? No, Ken, you idiot. It's not godly. It's dangerous and stressful. Mold. Drafts. Illness from being crammed together. Depression. Repairs you can't afford. Dangerous neighborhoods. You and Lori just need to STFU.

Carlin & Evan 5 - Carlin Is Still Engaged?

I couldn't figure out what they were doing. It seemed like they are playing air harp or air flute or whatever. Who are these girls anyway? I can sleep everywhere. Only if I'm really really tired, but I once fell asleep in the first row of a rock concert.
  21. Boy oh boy that was a such a weird look into their world. They truly live in a different dimension!
  22. @treemom Your mention of Pagosa Springs reminded me of the song 'Wolf Creek Pass' by C.W. McCall. Did you happen to travel the pass? Lyrics under the spoiler tag.
  23. So David gets pushed into courting because his mom calls him a chicken, he asks Priscilla to court through a note, and she suddenly has all the emotions that she had justified the absence of away a few days earlier? Wow what a love story.
  24. I really cannot imagine going on my social media and yelling at my friends and family about how they dress or their lifestyles or their spirituality! Over and over. Sometimes I forget just how fucking weird that is. Jill is hyper focused on dictating other people's lives.

    Stories Part 2

Ballsy. Not nearly as exciting, but when my daughter worked at Taco Bell, one night a young man walked in, went straight to the condiments bar, lifted out a whole pan filled with about 250 individual packets of hot sauce and walked right out the door to a waiting car. They figure it was some sort of college prank.

    Alyssa & John 3: Modesty Make-Up

When the X and I were married, I had no one to leave the kids with so I drove back home for a week every summer just to have that "kid-free" time. When I moved back home, my parents lived in the neighborhood across the street from mine and the kids were old enough to run back and forth as they pleased. I can see not wanting to leave the kids when they're in that infant-toddler-preschooler phase but once they were old enough to be fairly independent it was time for mom to let go. Even with letting the kids be independent, that empty nest thing was TOUGH! Now the nest isn't so empty as #2 son and gf live with us. But, they're independent and do their own thing and we do our own thing. I'm glad they're here as we go through this cancer battle (and fucked up ligament thing).
