According to the City of Dubuque, the area received 24.3 inches of snow over the past few days.

I feel bad now.  The majority of the snow all went south of the Twin Cities so the Metro didn't even receive two inches.

Where I live we got about .5 to .8 inches of snow.

And over the next few days it's supposed to get quite cold even before wind chill is figured in.  Sunday they're saying a high of zero and a low of -8, with it getting much colder in northern Minnesota.  I'm kind of relieved that job opportunity in St. Louis County didn't pan out now.

Hidden True Crime posted a video with John analyzing from the psychological perspective Ruby and Jodi re the sentencing hearings.  Almost 2 hours long.  (And if you go to about the 12 minute mark you’ll miss the sponsor ad but not really miss the subject matter )

I said Rowan or Ash on Josie’s thread, but I’ll let @JDuggs have those. I do love a bit of alliteration, so I’m going to go with Beech Balka. For the Pecans, Dorcas for a girl and Parker for a boy. (If it turns out that they’re alternating P and D, not P for boys and D for girls, Phoebe for a girl.)

We have a very good friend who's daughter turned 19 in January and she recently got married. I think her new husband is turning 21. We weren't at the wedding but did sed a card and some money. My daughter is a year older than she is, in her 3rd year of college and getting ready to move in with her boyfriend. But no plans of marriage anytime soon, they both are planning grad school and who knows after that. My daughter is very mature overall and I think that is a good thing. She is mature enough to realize it is smart for her to focus on getting her own career plans going before getting married.

I don't think all young couples are doomed though. My husband and I married young as did most of our friends. We were in th emilitary and it is just what people did. Most of us are still married 22+ years later. It still isn't what I would want for my children though,

Not all of them are doomed but stats are not on their side. The biggest reason these fundies get married young is so they can have sex without religious guilt and shame. I would never want my child to legally tie themselves to someone at 18 just so they can have sex. I am completely fine with my kids having consensual responsible (meaning birth control/condoms) sex at 18 without marriage.

Imagine going to the wedding of an 18 and 19 year old. I would be sitting there thinking, “this is weird.” But I would still smile and congratulate them.

At least Ethan has a sibling who has been divorced. I think if your sibling has gone through it, you’ll be more likely to feel it is an option if your marriage is miserable.

It’s not supposed to be mosquito season right now but I still appear to have been bitten twice on the side of my foot. Bastards. I know I shouldn’t scratch but it’s so tempting… 😑

      Hello,

I'm brand new to this forum. It was suggested to me by former and outspoken Remnant Fellowship member (Natasha Pavlovich) that I join this forum and put out here what I do. She also warned me that no one on here trusts, or trusts easily, and that I'd likely be assumed to be a Remnant plant or spy until vetted and verified as not that. Fair enough.
In short, and in truth, I'm a psychotherapist with 25 yrs experience in Franklin TN (less than three miles from RF incidentally) with a special interest in working with people formerly associated with cults, cult-like or any and all high control intitutions. I'm especially interested in working with those desiring not only deconstruct, recover and learn to thrive post-indoctrination, but those desiring to recapture or cultivate an authentic sense of theology without walls, or spirituality with borders.
To date, I've worked with former Amish, Mennonite, LDS/FLDS, FOG, and a those representing a whole slew of evangelical, fire and brimstone fear/shame/guilt-inducing institutions.
I am especially interested in working with former Remnant Fellowship and Scientology members. I view RF as basically Scientology without the budget.
I'll leave it there. Much more can be gleaned about me through my website: therapyoutsidethebox.com or IG: @ therapyoutsidethebox

      Peace,

I have a friend with untreated autism and ADHD. I've tried so fucking hard to help. He refuses. It's a mess. I'm really really tired.
