Fornicate. Winter is coming.

Yeah, looks like winter is coming to the upper Midwest.  Fornicate.

Quote

The first winter storm of the season to blast off from the Rockies was unloading its energy Thursday primarily in North Dakota, where it could dump up to 18 inches (46 centimeters) of snow and kick up winds as high as 50 mph (80 kph).

The system started with a round of freezing drizzle that made driving tricky in the Dakotas. It led to a chain reaction crash that totaled a state trooper's vehicle and closed Interstate 94 in eastern North Dakota for several hours Wednesday night and shut down I-29 in eastern North Dakota on Thursday morning.

Both interstates have reopened but travel was expected to become nearly impossible in some stretches due to whiteout conditions, the National Weather Service said. Flight delays and cancellations were being posted at airports across the region.

The storm was already hammering central North Dakota on Thursday morning. Jacqueline Swiftbird, a cashier at the Flying J truck stop in Mandan, said a semi-trailer that had been hauling other vehicles was stuck outside her window. She said she was the only cashier who could make it into work and that she picked up employees for restaurants and other shops in the travel center.

Looks like North Dakota is getting the brunt but winter is also hitting Montana, South Dakota, and parts of northwest Minnesota.  One of my FB friends from law school lives in SW Minnesota so I got a message out to her asking how the weather is out there.

I'm not ready for winter yet.  Ugh,

Living with Braggie just in and of itself has to be EXHAUSTING. All the constant manipulation, martyr attitude, attention-seeking, need for validation, raging or barely-restrained verbal attacks when she doesn't get her own way, endless buying and selling... I'm not surprised Shaun spends as much time as he can away from her and from 10 kids he doesn't see as his responsibility.

And I think Ezra has actually caught on, and that's why he's now apprenticing with Shaun. Once Braggie put a stop to brick-and-mortar college (even a local college would have him out of the house for several hours a day), Ezra has looked for the next best option: follow Shaun's example in order to get out from under Braggie's constant drama and the endless child-raising that has become his lot, second son's (can't remember his name) and Della's. He's taken or taking a programming course, so the next thing will be to spend huge chunks of time with Shaun in Shaun's "office" learning stuff, and of course accompanying him in all his travelling. I'll bet he's looking forward to that.

I also think second son is aware of all this, and also aware that he's got a much worse chance of escaping from being Braggie's servant. After all, how many apprentices can Shaun's business sustain? This one's on his own, and, based on stuff Braggie has said on occasion about his attitude, and based on how absolutely over it he looks in every Sunday picture (when he appears; he's missed quite a few), I think he's well aware of how much more difficult he'll have it.

That is a shocking amount of Reddit in-jokes for an actual published book!

You can self-publish anything these days with print-on-demand. I appreciate that someone DID though

Their engagement photo showed them 2 feet apart. She looked very smitten, so did he.

He has his arm around her in one of the wedding photos and she is really squeezed up close to him at the wedding breakfast.

It was a large wedding with at least 6 bridesmaids. The bride wore a headcovering,  but none of the bridesmaids.

Are the Parfitts  Brethern or a kind of Mennonite?

Was it the paedo Duggar who got a "it's like Lego" talk?

It all makes me cringe so hard. I know an actual poet who publishes poetry. They would never do something like this. I’m getting such second hand embarrassment.

I work for a writers festival and have come across many, many actual poets who would be mortified by the idea of this. Mind you, I ALSO used to work doing typesetting and admin for a self-publishing company that did a lot of Christian books. There was a 'prophetic poet' who paid for their services once, this would not be totally out of the realm of possibility for him.
