Here's my first completed page from the Art Nouveau book.  Colored with Prismas, Copics, and Winsor & Newton Promarkers.  Couldn't take the photo of the page outside since it's raining and there's no good light so I gave it a try indoors again.  Am clipping my coloring pages to an artist's tote board I bought from Amazon and it really is helpful for support while coloring lying in bed. I have the day off and am now working on pages from the insect book and Curious Creatures!    :marker:

I know reds don't translate well online, but it's my favorite color so I use it a lot!

Oh, man, it's beautiful!  Is the horse black or brown?  I absolutely love the way you put colours together!!!

Thank you very much!  The horse is black. I don't like the way the photo turned out, though. The original page colors are richer and more vivid. My outdoor photos have been turning out better, but it was raining today so I had to take this one indoors. I'm glad that you like it, even though the pic doesn't do the colors justice.  Am now working on two pages at once;  almost done with the page from the insect book and am about half finished with my first page from Curious Creatures.   :marker:

I thought it was black but wasn't sure. Is it hard to colour large areas in black?  I haven't done that yet. Ever since I posted the whale picture I've been working on a very detailed page from Lost Ocean, which is the only book I have here. It is all tiny detail and I can't believe how long it's taking. I'm almost finished though!

So far, I've only colored two cats and the horse in black and the areas weren't really all that big. I think I'd get tired of looking at black if it was a large area, though.  Can't wait to see your Lost Ocean page...are you using regular lights to color by this time?  :my_shy:

Haha.  I have been using daylight!!  I have abandoned the whole colouring in the dark scenario. Mainly so I can prove to myself that I'm able to walk away from the colouring!  When I get up in the morning I swear I will finish that page!

I really love the horse in black. You are so, so talented. I never would have thought one could have a talent for COLOURING, but this blog has shown me otherwise.

I really appreciate your very kind and encouraging words about my coloring, thank you!  I think it takes artistic talent to color, to choose colors that work together in some way or another. It takes patience and a fairly steady hand too. All of us on this blog have a talent for coloring in our own unique way and I find it very interesting to see the different coloring styles here. Some of us even color whales in the dark...which I think is a quite unusual style!   :my_biggrin:

I can't imagine who would do that :kitty-shifty:.  I agree, though. And I also love seeing everyone's different styles. I'm very excited that our daughter-in-law is colouring when she gets a chance, which isn't often with two tiny boys. This is my influence!  It makes me so happy.

(Have you and Mrs. Baby had a problem with little bugs in the last few days?  We've never had them before. They swarm just before dusk and seem to like my markers!  Super annoying!!)

So your DIL is becoming a coloring minion, eh?  Good for you!   :my_shy:

No, we haven't noticed any swarming bugs.  Are they gnats?

Just finished my page from the insect book and I think it looks good. Have finished about 2/3 of the page from Curious Creatures at this point.

Yaass, our DIL is becoming a colorist minion!  I could not be more proud!  She tells me that she's aborted a few attempts but is doing one she likes now.  (Utterly beside the point but this girl is incredible.  We love her as if she were our own. But happy she isn't our daughter because then she wouldn't have married our son!  Huge digression there, with apologies.)

i don't know if these are gnats. But, I will tell you that they are extremely low on the intelligence scale as they are remarkably easy to kill (I hope you guys aren't PETA members :kitty-shifty:). However, I really could live without them invading my bra and other similarly private areas. (My hands are quite sore from slapping at the little buggers.)  We are in SW Florida - I don't know where you are but maybe they are local to here.

Gorgeous as always.   I almost pulled this page out in the last bunch, but ended up picking a different one (the one with the cat and dog).

This is not how I envisioned doing this page at all, so it's very cool to see another take on it.

I like that a few of us are starting to get the same books.   I see another color off in our future :)

I went back over the horse with my new Special Black Copic marker to get that deep jet black I wanted to begin with so the original page looks better now.   Thank you!  How would you have done this page?

Can you show us the page now?  It would be neat to see the difference.

I'm not sure the difference I see on the original page would be as obvious in a photo, but when I have some time I can try to get another photo of the page as it is now. Will probably post it on my profile page so as not to boggle up the coloring blog with a second pony photo!  I already feel like a blog hog as it is.  :kitty-wink:

Me, too. And I know you have some in the works, as do I. Oh, dear. But you could post it here if you get a good photo!

Was how would you have done the page directed at me or @Fascinated?

It was directed to you because you posted that my version was not how you had envisioned it and I was curious :my_shy:  to know how you would have done it.

You know me.  I'm boring and realistic a lot of the time.  I was thinking a dark brown horse with a lighter mane, blue for the background.

The more I look at these photos, the more random things I notice. There are quite a few other women who look edited into the photo. I get that it’s hard to get a photo with everyone present, but the swapping out people after you’ve already publicly used a picture is pretty sad.

In the spirit of Kate Middleton's photo editing scandal, I present what I believe to be an example of Remnant revisionist history. This photo on Remnant's website shows women in leadership. If you drag to the desktop, it's labeled as being from 2021. I have studied this photo at different times in recent months, and there appear to be TWO newish additions to this photo that I don't remember in the original. Would love someone experienced with photo editing to weigh in!

      1. Erin Shamblin (or is it Erin Baker  — as she is now married to Daniel Baker, more on that in a minute) appears to be have been photoshopped in on the left side (her face looks completely flat and with a different light than anyone else). Is it just me?

      2. Toward the center of the photo, Elizabeth Shamblin Hannah also appears to have been added to the photo; I don't recall her in the original. Probably covering someone who left. I also believe the photo inserted is the SAME exact look from a family photo posted to her late husband, Brandon' FB page in December 2020. Same exact pose same hair, same pained expression, same contouring, I even think I see the outline of the collar. Is it just me?

      3. Speaking of Erin's new husband Daniel Baker ... until their divorce was made official in February, he was previously married to Amanda Baker. They were off-and-on church leaders and he played in the praise band with Michael. He married Erin 10 days after the divorce. Amanda also worked for Brandon Hannah Properties but is no longer there. She appears at the top this photo, so we'll see how long she remains there.

Update from the Photoshop Ministry: As predicted, Remnant has re-doctored this already doctored photo of its women leaders. Amanda Baker (whose ex now married Erin Shamblin) has gone poof — top center. Below and to the right, Elizabeth has been removed from this photo —and she got a better, larger photo with her daughter on the leader page. And Naomi Swindell — Elizabeth’s lackey —  has been inserted in Elizabeth’s spot. (Old photo has numbers, new has arrows.)

I live in Europe, in a rural area. Houses are of all kinds of types and styles. I don’t think I have ever visited a house with more than three bathrooms/half baths. Usually no more than two. Master bedrooms en suite are practicality non existent in our area and definitely uncommon in the whole country. So I don’t understand why you need multiple bathrooms in a normal size house. We have two bathrooms and get by fine even when we have two teenagers and a younger child.

Growing up, my dad’s house had one bathroom for 5 people. It was a nightmare when all 5 of us were home. My dad took forever to take a dump in the morning. Plus everyone needed to shower, brush their teeth, and pee in that bathroom. We had to schedule things out. Like all kids had to shower at night. Not in the morning before school. And you had to quickly brush your teeth before dad got in there in the morning. Because he was in there for a good 45 minutes! I remember once when my sibling wouldn’t get out of the bathroom and I had an emergency. I ended up pooping my pants. It was horrible. So when we were house hunting in our current neighborhood, I said we must have 2 toilets. I even said it was ok if there was just a Pittsburgh potty in the basement as the second toilet. If you don’t know what a Pittsburgh potty is, it’s just a random toilet in the basement. People say it was for men who worked in the mines all day would come home and strip in the basement, wash up, and use the toilet down there so they didn’t make a mess in the regular bathroom. The basement was where all the clothing was washed anyway so it would make sense. We did see some houses with random basement toilets but didn’t buy them. We ended up with a bathroom on the first floor and a bathroom on the second floor. My kids spend a lot of time in the basement playing with toys and video games. I would love a Pittsburgh potty down there nowadays.

Podcast with Jessa and Ben. I think this is the link to an YT alternative so that other couple doesn't get the clicks.
