Have you tried our new mobile experience?

As many of you already know, our previous mobile site was....unpleasant at best.   I personally never used it, but rather suffered through adjusting the full site and doing a lot of scrolling when I wanted to read something on FJ on the rare times I needed to access it from a mobile device.

Today, on the way to my weekly dr. appointment, I decided to give the new mobile site a look.   I have to say I'm really impressed with the new mobile experience.   Not only did I never have to adjust the size of the forum to be able to read it, I was actually able to do several small administrative tasks using an iPhone.

Every aspect of the site resizes beautifully and you really get the same experience on the mobile site now that you have on the full site.

If you haven't given it a try, I highly recommend it.

Doing that right now. I still prefer to quote in Tapa. I have trouble scrolling down on things like long quotes and the emojis. I can see the first few but nothing beyond that.

I haven't tried it on my phone yet but it's very nice on my iPad.  I use Chrome and it's a very similar experience to the full site, albeit missing a few of the shinier features. I'm so used to the new design now that it's hard to imagine the previous one. It is much more streamlined and uncluttered.  Love it.

That's the only thing that's better on Tapatalk - the quoting.  Other than that, the mobile site is waaaaaaaay better than Tapatalk and the previous mobile site.  I highly recommend it.

I never figured out Tapa talk so I just used the old freejinger site on my phone and yikes... But I recently peaked at the new mobile site and it's gorgeous on my iphone 6! Seriously now everytime I lurk my other forums, I find myself longing for freejinger's layout.

Yeah, not bad.  I don't really access the site too much through my i devices though.

From the limited amount I've used the new mobile site, it looks much better than the old one. I never used Tapatalk so I can't compare.

I was on the mobile site today while I was waiting for my DH to grab a few things in the store. It certainly helped pass the time sitting in the car. I am really liking it. The only thing I found to be tediuous was those nesting comments...they seemed to never end, never end, never end..I'm glad those were taken off.

Kudos FJ! :my_heart:

Now that I've figured out how to access new content on the iPhone mobile site (different than the tablet site I've been seeing, which I'm also quite happy with), I'm enjoying it! Very nice!

I use the mobile site regularly on my Galaxy s6 Edge Plus, and I love it! I actually can't think of anything unpleasant about it. I've also used chat on my phone, and it's been smooth and user friendly as well!

Thanks, everyone who worked so hard on everything! FJ is an excellent site all around!

I almost exclusively use mobile devices to access FJ. Probably on my iPad the most, but I do go on my phone sometimes when I find myself waiting.

What I noticed is how to access the blogs can be different. I'm really enjoying reading :my_blush: the blogs once I found where them.

On my iPad, and I'm holding it horizontal there's a blue bar right under the FJ logo  with a button for the blogs and I can access the blogs very easily. But when I have my iPad vertical the blue bar does not exist. No matter how I am holding my iPhone there's no blue bar.  Not sure if this  tablet horizontal/vertical issue is just from my devices

 I'm loving the new site

No worries, I was just commenting on the different layouts on different devices.  I can get to everything through the drop down box on the upper right. .

This is the way it's designed. The bar only shows where there is room. On smaller screens / orientations, you haven't get to blogs via the horizontal lines thingy on the top right.

I worked at FCA headquarters in kansas city for a brief period of time. Our team was all encouraged to go on an after-work trip to the IHOP prayer room. I chose not to go and I was the only one. But the (now insane) church I grew up in had been tied to Bickle early on and I'd always had a negative impression of him based on some weird prophecy stuff that people called him out on in the 90s. That said, my childhood church ended up back with IHOP and hired tons of their "graduates." Thankfully my parents are out now.

Maybe I've just spent too much of my life listening to driscoll non-ironically in my youth and then finding my way through deconstruction through ex-mormon youtube.... but it occurs to me that Driscoll's persistence that he's had visions about affairs and the like is strikingly similar to the Visions of Glory "Spencer." And once you make that connection, all of Driscoll's spiritual warfare nonsense and demon trials have the potential to be even more sinister.

An excellent commentary on the rotting corpse of the SBC and those who are protecting it:

They are doing a series on Pressler over at The Wartburg Watch.  Nothing really new there, but a pretty good summary if you're not caught up.

What a lot of people including Wartburg seem to be missing is that Paul Pressler caring what the SBC believed is just a smokescreen.  The reality is this, the SBC is the single largest evangelical voting block in the country.  The lay people involved in the SBC from the Council of National Policy (like Paul Pressler, or Rod Martin) will do whatever it takes to keep this block voting Republican.  They need to cover up abuse in church, not for the sake of the church, but because it could breakup a huge block that can be controlled right now.

I would think having already experienced a uterine rupture, and IIRC this was with Freddy and about 3 weeks before his due date, Jill is in a higher than average risk for untoward events and likely is on a very individualized OBGYN plan. Navigating a pregnancy and safe birth after having had a previous uterine rupture and never having had a vaginal delivery has to make Jill’s care quite unique. I hope she utilizes high risk maternal/fetal practitioners.
