Snow! Snow! And More Snow!

It started snowing shortly before 10am central here.  By noon we had 2.5 inches of snow on the ground and it's still coming down pretty good.  There's a heavy band of snow moving through eastern Iowa right now.  We'll probably have four inches by the time it's over later today.  Of course Iowa drivers can't go more than a few months without forgetting how to drive in winter weather.  Including this moron was was clocked going 111 mph this morning.

The Iowa State Patrol is warning drivers to be careful on Tuesday as wintry weather is creating icy spots on Iowa roadways.

The warning came in a Facebook post after the ISP said it pulled over an 18-year-old driver in Mount Pleasant it clocked at 111 mph Tuesday morning.

I admit to being a complete sucker for Tupperware.  We have multiple Tupperware pieces from the 70s to today.    My mom hosted a couple of Tupperware parties when I was little, and I hosted one myself when I was engaged.  I still have all the pieces I bought and earned, and my dad just gave me some tiny versions of the 70s cereal bowls that we had for years.  They are still good and holding up 50 years later.

You can buy Tupperware on Amazon now.  No need to host or attend a party to get it.

And I used to have quite the load of Princess House pieces.  While I gave a lot of it away to family who needed the bazillion plates and glasses that I had, I kept and still often use the Fantasia pattern bakeware items.  Brownies just aren't right if not made in that pan!

I read last year or so that the new trend for kitchens is to have a messy kitchen next door. For the things that make a kitchen messy, like cooking food. So that your expensive shiny open kitchen with the expensive stone counter tops stay presentable when you entertain or something. I can't wrap my mind around something like that.

That’s like the Duggars. They seemed to have their industrial kitchen hidden behind their “pretty kitchen.”

I read her book after this thread was initially posted. It’s a gripping but difficult read which needs to come with every possible trigger warning. Robert Hale was a horrible, horrible man.

Elishaba is beyond courageous for getting out of a terrible situation, writing about it as openly as she did, and retaining her faith after all the horrendous things she’s experienced. I can understand why some of the siblings might be upset with her for speaking out, but hopefully they will eventually come to understand. I also hope that some of them will be able to reconcile and stand by her during the health crisis.

There might be a trend on the rise with influencers to have these kitchen Part 2s. Audrey Roloff just redid their house and they have something they are calling a butler's pantry but it's just a second kitchen caddy corner to their main kitchen. I feel like Abbie's is that kind of attempt too. I can just picture looking for a box of macaroni and having to open a bunch of upper cabinets to try and find it and then reach up on your tip toes to grab.

her dad throws her beloved kitten against a wall

and then said "I think I need to take a break from reading this." I know it's going to get worse from there, and it will be a hard read!
