Because I know people are losing sleep wondering...

The two lilac bushes I finally planted (well, pointed to the spots where my minions planted them) died.  So I finally get off my ass after 20+ years and make the effort to point...and they aren't even grateful enough to stay alive.  This is why I don't like plants...they refuse to obey.

Yesterday there were 2 ducks in my neighbors yard.  Fenced yards, we don't live near a lake or anything but there they were just quacking at us.  The dogs were confused.  How did they get here?

I broke a dongle today.  First time in my career.  It's on my desk in 3 pieces and I bet it's using it's last gasping moments to tell all the other dongles to protect themselves from the clumsy human.  When in reality I'm more scared of them than they are of me - you would not believe what I'm being charged for just a replacement.

Now I need to get back to real life.  I am troubleshooting an RDP/VPN issues for a remote user.  As they are currently in another time zone I need them to be my rebootin' fingers on their end.  Which would be fine if their skill level weren't such that I needed to remote in to their local laptop just to log them in to logmein because the step by step instructions and screen shots were "too complicated."  I do get an existential kick out of loggingin logmein so i can login logmein to another machine.  I always have to resist the urge to then, on that computer...logmein right back to local.

This user is so nice, though, I can't be mad...no matter how many times I have to explain the printer needs to actually be on in order to work.  So since they are so nice when I feel myself getting clenchy this is what I picture on the other end.  Anger dissipated and I want to scratch their sweet little head.

Even when this actually happened...they've since learned but this.  happened.  twice.

I'm going to go make a phone call and walk them through rebooting their router...and this is a real life pic of that future event from their end.

But they will totally laugh when I make this joke...and I will make this joke...

They won't understand...but they will laugh.

Oh well...at least it's not a different type of user where I'd have to look at something else to remind myself to stay calm.

This is how I feel about Christmas trees. They just don't survive here. My bf rubs the dead tree that is still in the house and says it needs more water. Umm no, no it doesn't. I do think that might actually be the problem; he's probably drowning them because he thinks the leaves are too dry.

You should have gone for the lilac colored heather! Or even better, replace it with mint or lemon balm (don't blame me when it escapes though)

Jill was parentified and forced to provide parental like care for Joy. That adds a level of complexity to everything.

That, and even if Joy wasn’t the first official “ little buddy” in their system - 6 1/2 years can be a pretty big gap - especially when there are a ton of both older, younger and middle siblings. And given Jill being a more nurturing, super responsible type, and Joy being an active rough and tumble child - the difference probably felt even bigger.

I think AH and Shaun are just over having to do any of the hard work that parenting requires. If they were in a more standard sized family for our current era, they’d have 3 teenagers and would be free to date and travel at their leisure with less help needed. They are in their 40s and so over running around after 5 little boys and doing all that is required to keep those kids safe, nurtured… Most people who have access to BC and medical care make other, more responsible decisions. What is particularly sad about this situation is AH doesn’t really have a motherly bone in her body- and she’ll admit that this role does not come naturally to her. Having lived through many decades and “seasons”, I thought the 40s were the hardest ones. I had tween aged kids plus peri menopause- the health issues were starting to creep up- it was just not a pleasant time.

Also -- I think Braggie is too lazy/ unconcerned about toilet training the "twinbies".

That's my assumption too. She's probably had a couple who trained themselves so she's simply too up her own selfies bother spending any amount of time potty training them.

And yes, when they get potty trained it will be because a sibling or grandmother did it.

Pennsylvanian man wants in on the action with his 25,000 bags of heroin

According to a criminal complaint, Ydale Thomas, 35, was behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer when it was pulled over for traffic infractions late last year by a state trooper patrolling I-76.

Thomas claimed he was returning home to the Pittsburgh area after having driven earlier that day to Philadelphia, where he had purportedly sold a dog to a man at a gas station.

The trooper concluded that Thomas was being “deceptive.”

The affidavit contends that, “It cannot be overstated that Philadelphia, PA is a source location for the distribution of narcotics, and a regional epicenter for all criminal activity” and is “a hotbed for wholesale narcotics trafficking stash houses.”

It’s easier to justify overbuying when you pretend lie every purchase was a major bargain.

Also -- I think Braggie is too lazy/ unconcerned about toilet training the "twinbies".  I suspect one of the older BroDads/ SisMoms will decide soon to do it themselves because they are tired of cleaning up poopy diapers, etc. I don't believe for a nano second Braggie does it herself.
