The first pic is Alfie when I first met him when he was six weeks old, the second pic is of Cooper and Nutmeg my first 2 cats, Coops is at the back and unfortunately he died aged 8 in 2009 after suffering a blood clot in his spine which paralyzed his back end, I miss him like crazy :tw_dissapointed_relieved:. Nuts is at the front and she lives with my xh so I get to see her often when taking my daughter to her dads, she is going to be 10 this year and is still full of fun.

Such fluffy goodness!  Now I kinda want a cat.  A cat that Mr MM will detest and Marbles hopefully won't eat...

My cat has chosen us as owners, she is such a sweet cat, very mellow, shy and cuddly. The only thing I wish she would let me do is pick her up and hold her in my arms, but you can't have everything.

This is our much loved torti, Orion.  She passed away about 3 years ago now, I think.

This is Otter my dilute calico that I brought with me when I moved from SD.  She took about 5 seconds to become my husband's cat (filthy traitor, I saved her from life as a barn cat!).   So we got Orion for me.   I held her on the way home and that was the last time until she was about 10 years old.    I decided I was getting a dog because cats were not working out too good for me. (Dogs didn't either, ftr *sigh*)

And this last one is both Parker and Riley on the day they finally were able to conquer the cat tree.  Orion was not fond of them as kittens and would plant herself on the top of the cat tree and battle them as they tried to make it to the top.   Even when they double teamed her and climbed up opposite sides, she was able to take them both on and keep her spot as Queen of the Cat Tree.    I can't recall right now if she abandoned her post on this particular day or if they managed to find it unoccupied, but they were the happiest kittens EVAH that day.   They stayed up there for hours.

I love all cats but I must admit (sorry Alfie) that I have a soft spot for tabbies.

I have four kitties!

Socks is 3, we found her as a stray at 7 months old, she kept coming to both me and my neighbour's house, at first my neighbour took her in and she was the one who paid to have her spayed and stuff, but she came between both houses all the time. We officially adopted her as our own when she was one, because we were going to move, and my neighbour already has four cats. Shes a big soft baby who always sleeps in bed with me.

I have three kittens, found them at 5 months old. They are now 10 months. Izzy is the one that wants the most attention, she loves cuddles and she has a loud purr that comes very easily-she once purred watching me pet one of her sisters. Amber is the feisty one, despite being the runt of the litter, she is the one with the biggest personality. She likes to sit on my shoulder and she greets everyone by sitting on their shoulder or chest and sniffing their face, and when she doesn't want kisses she will put a soft little paw on your mouth. Mittens is sweet and a bit shy. She is a very laid back cat, and she is tolerant of pretty much everything. Even the hat, and a baby dress once. She has a thing for dirty laundry, especially underwear.

Has no one really posted anything about Fake Anne since 2022, or is this just not the right forum anymore??? Should I be looking somewhere else?

Reddit loves to talk about her.

I bet JMac is one of those people who say “All these kids need is a good whupping.  That’ll learn ‘em to pay attention.”

Across town there are a few of the open concept type homes that I always associate with the South.

Interesting, the ones around here I associate with the west/southwest.  They are "cookie cutter" homes in planned neighborhoods. Every single house is the same - you can pick and choose which "features" you want, but all homes have to sort of match for whatever stupid HOA dystopian reason.  My house was remodeled into the "open kitchen" and I hate it so much. I want to be able to use my kitchen for cottage foods and sell my pickles/kimchi/salsa/tomato/bbq sauce out of my garage. But I can't, because I can't close the kitchen and prevent pet contamination. Even though the cats do not go on the counter, we clean everything, everything is temped and done correctly and we both have ServSafe and food handlers and alcohol handling cards.

I also prefer the intimacy of a more traditional home and I also don't want to spend a fortune heating or cooling the house.

I've found that windows are the biggest culprit. We keep our house pretty cool though.

If I'm not using a space I don't want to heat it. I am a fan of more than one bathroom though. When we renovated our house when we moved in 20 plus years ago I insisted we add another bathroom. One bathroom is never enough unless you live alone.  What if someone's sick? What if a toilet backs up? I need more than one for sure, and I don't mind cleaning in general, so that's not a problem.

Same. Give me a bathroom for every bedroom, plus one for guests near the main area. We pay for a house cleaner though, because I would rather spend my time doing other things than trying to make my house as clean as I want it to be.

My other must-have for a house was a two car garage. We use the garage for its intended purpose and are lucky enough to have attic storage above it. I don't get people in our neighborhood who have a garage and don't use it, especially in winter.

I live in what is arguably the most wintery of the winter states and so many people don't use garages as intended. Me included, because the garage is where I keep my kayak, paddleboard, bikes, and a bunch of other stuff.  I'd rather people park on the street and stash their stuff in garages than renting storage units.  Storage units are the worst waste of space for urban planning.

Right.  Art doesn't want to work.  Instead they want SSI so they don't have to work.

They didn't get it because it was medically necessary.  They (the 2 of them) spend the majority of their day in bed so they wanted an adjustable one so they could sit up and work on their laptops.

This is just so sad. I wish Art had a mother to barge in and remind them that they are way too young to live like this, and had things to offer the world. Or at least kick them into gear and get them to a real therapist, and have them follow through with treatment, which should absolutely include things like "shower once a day," "leave the house and get fresh air" and "take medication to treat underlying chemical imbalances.
