Ok then...

So I finally caved in after struggling with combs and bristle brushes and bought a Furminator at the recommendation of a couple of websites and the woman at the Pet Barn (who clearly had no ulterior motive in selling me a stupidly expensive cat grooming item). I was skeptical and for $Aus56 I was crossing my fingers (and everything else) that it would be worth it. And then this happened.......     This is thing is FREAKING AMAZING. Food, glorious food.....

Millie has always been food-driven. All food, any food, any time. But at least she had some limits. She would happily eat half of her food and come back for the rest later. But since Alfie arrived and there is competition at the food bowls, she has reverted to survival mode and is scoffing down everything in sight. I had noticed that she has been heavier to lift up but I didn't realise the full extent of it until I took this pic a couple of days ago.....

It's been an Alfie kind of day.

So the day started well....   Then for a break, Millie hopped up to her safe place where Alfie couldn't climb....     But Alfie discovered that he is now big enough to get up there too.....   And as soon as Millie climbed down for a while, look who took over.......   And when Millie came back and found him in HER spot, it was on for young and old, resulting in one of those insane cat chases all around the house and poor MissBla

Alfie's new plaything......

.........is Millie. Our gorgeous big girl is irresistible to him. Every flick of her tail is an invitation. He is a stalker. Every move she makes is an opportunity to bounce, pounce, swat or chase. And she loves it.

Dammit Alfie....

Here's a comparison of Alfie & Millie playing with the same toy. They're not quite up to posing with each other yet.   Appearances are deceptive though. My sweet, tiny, cute Alfie is discovering his naughty side. I went to put my phone on charge last night and found this: : so I checked some other cables for tiny teeth marks. And sure enough... And he looks so innocent....

So my return to work this week has put a dent in my kitty worship. Apologies that there will be gaps in updates from now on. Alfie is a colourist!

All things Alfie (and Millie)

Alfie was adopted from a shelter on 24 Jan 2016. He was 9 weeks old. He joins big sister Millie who is 5 years old and came to us from the same shelter when she was 12 weeks old.. Alfie is sweet, cuddly, naughty, cheeky and affectionate and already rules our house. After being the centre of attention for five years, Millie is being extremely tolerant of this invasion and apart from some minor growling and hissing is taking it really well.       Wishing I had a dollar for every time I burped on my back porch after dark and set off a neighbor's dog. The best part is that I'm sure everyone think it's my BF and not me, because it's surely not possible such a huge noise could come out of my body.
