Well, I did indeed finish this guy last night in the dark, with the aid of my iPhone light. I am brilliant for thinking of doing that, and I am ridiculous for actually doing that. I checked him out just now and have declared him fit for presentation. I like him.image.thumb.jpg.5c311f1cd704716759c42d57

Forgot to add that this is with my new Prismacolour pencils and, yes, I love them. No more scratching sounds!  I didn't have to go over everything to enrich the colours like I have been. Excellent!

Oh, and bad photo blah, blah.

Love it!  And you managed this in the dark?  In one day?  Because that is double amazing.  Although I have to giggle a bit at the mental image of you huddled over the page with your iphone light.  Not that I have been known to contort myself into strange positions to get the right light ;)  Also, Prismacolours rock!

Yes, I'm afraid I have a bit of a colouring addiction. Once I start I can't seem to stop.  I admit your image of my huddled countenance is spot on.  And let's not even think about the fact that I'm on vacation with my husband, who sat beside me (in the dark),  and I think the only words I uttered were: 'I can't see!' and 'Oh my god, I don't know what colour to do his eye!' and 'Did you say something?' and, of course,  'My wine glass seems to be empty'.  'Again'.

I love the Prismacolours. Today I started another with my new markers. I'm very disappointed in the horrendous bleed-through. It SEVERELY limits how many pages I will be able to colour!  I will have to select carefully, based on what's on the flip side.  But, otherwise, they are great!

Sorry for ramble.

My coloring books all have one-sided pages...no back to back pictures.  I'm using something Amazon calls an artist's tote board to clip my pages on and it works great. I put a big piece of watercolor paper under the coloring page and clip them both to the board and there's no bleed to the board or anything. Maybe you could buy more of the one design per page books for your Prismas?  Even then, when coloring the page in the book, you have to put a barrier between pages or the Prismas/Copics can bleed through onto the next page...something that happened to me in my first Creative Cats book!

Your dedication to coloring is admirable!  Coloring a whale in the dark with an iPhone is an impressive achievement...and it looks really good, too!   :my_shy:

I do have some one-sided page books, and they have perforated pages. One is Paisleys and one is Mandalas.  I did a few from those initially but then got a bit bored with the repetion.  I really like the other books I have but, yes, I should save them for the pencils perhaps. I did get the Art Nouveau Animals (?) book by Creative Haven so when I get home I will do something from that with the markers.

Thats great advice!  I need to set up something like that to make it easier. And, clearly, I still need a proper light, too.

Do you have Creative Cats and/or the Owl book by Creative Haven? I love those two!

I'm almost finished with my latest page and  it came out of the Art Nouveau book.

Yes, a proper light would be helpful.

I don't have any other CH books yet. I know there are a large number of them. I honestly don't think I could attempt the Cats or Owls after seeing yours from those books. I would feel woefully inadequate!

Sure you can do them!  They are perfect for markers or whatever else you want to use and a lot of fun to color.

If you can color a whale in the dark with only the light from an iPhone, you can color anything!!!

I <3 the CH books.

I have the animal art nouveau book and think my next page will be out of that one.  I pulled out the kitty/puppy page to do in this batch.

and I forgot to actually comment on the page by the time i got through the comments.

I love this one.  Very creative, IMO.   I just noticed the title.  I've been reading it as "greyscale" this whole time :)

I just did a page using my new prismacolor pencils AND marker!    I have to wait until my husband scans the current batch to post it though.

If you like Mandalas but want a little more variety in them, I highly recommend Thanyeea McArdle's Flower Mandalas book.  It's a Design Original book.  My favorite after CH.

I just finished the horse with the flowing mane from the Art Nouveau book!  Now I'm attempting my first page from the Insect Designs book.

Honestly, I really get excited waiting for everyone's submissions!  The Colouring Minions may be feeble minded basement dwellers, but you all sure can colour!  And I firmly believe that it IS a relevant art form. Keep them coming everyone!

We don't have a basement.  :my_biggrin:

Neither do we, which I suppose should be embarrassing since I'm the cult leader and all ;)

The more I look at these photos, the more random things I notice. There are quite a few other women who look edited into the photo. I get that it’s hard to get a photo with everyone present, but the swapping out people after you’ve already publicly used a picture is pretty sad.

In the spirit of Kate Middleton's photo editing scandal, I present what I believe to be an example of Remnant revisionist history. This photo on Remnant's website shows women in leadership. If you drag to the desktop, it's labeled as being from 2021. I have studied this photo at different times in recent months, and there appear to be TWO newish additions to this photo that I don't remember in the original. Would love someone experienced with photo editing to weigh in!

      1. Erin Shamblin (or is it Erin Baker  — as she is now married to Daniel Baker, more on that in a minute) appears to be have been photoshopped in on the left side (her face looks completely flat and with a different light than anyone else). Is it just me?

      2. Toward the center of the photo, Elizabeth Shamblin Hannah also appears to have been added to the photo; I don't recall her in the original. Probably covering someone who left. I also believe the photo inserted is the SAME exact look from a family photo posted to her late husband, Brandon' FB page in December 2020. Same exact pose same hair, same pained expression, same contouring, I even think I see the outline of the collar. Is it just me?

      3. Speaking of Erin's new husband Daniel Baker ... until their divorce was made official in February, he was previously married to Amanda Baker. They were off-and-on church leaders and he played in the praise band with Michael. He married Erin 10 days after the divorce. Amanda also worked for Brandon Hannah Properties but is no longer there. She appears at the top this photo, so we'll see how long she remains there.

Update from the Photoshop Ministry: As predicted, Remnant has re-doctored this already doctored photo of its women leaders. Amanda Baker (whose ex now married Erin Shamblin) has gone poof — top center. Below and to the right, Elizabeth has been removed from this photo —and she got a better, larger photo with her daughter on the leader page. And Naomi Swindell — Elizabeth’s lackey —  has been inserted in Elizabeth’s spot. (Old photo has numbers, new has arrows.)

I live in Europe, in a rural area. Houses are of all kinds of types and styles. I don’t think I have ever visited a house with more than three bathrooms/half baths. Usually no more than two. Master bedrooms en suite are practicality non existent in our area and definitely uncommon in the whole country. So I don’t understand why you need multiple bathrooms in a normal size house. We have two bathrooms and get by fine even when we have two teenagers and a younger child.

Growing up, my dad’s house had one bathroom for 5 people. It was a nightmare when all 5 of us were home. My dad took forever to take a dump in the morning. Plus everyone needed to shower, brush their teeth, and pee in that bathroom. We had to schedule things out. Like all kids had to shower at night. Not in the morning before school. And you had to quickly brush your teeth before dad got in there in the morning. Because he was in there for a good 45 minutes! I remember once when my sibling wouldn’t get out of the bathroom and I had an emergency. I ended up pooping my pants. It was horrible. So when we were house hunting in our current neighborhood, I said we must have 2 toilets. I even said it was ok if there was just a Pittsburgh potty in the basement as the second toilet. If you don’t know what a Pittsburgh potty is, it’s just a random toilet in the basement. People say it was for men who worked in the mines all day would come home and strip in the basement, wash up, and use the toilet down there so they didn’t make a mess in the regular bathroom. The basement was where all the clothing was washed anyway so it would make sense. We did see some houses with random basement toilets but didn’t buy them. We ended up with a bathroom on the first floor and a bathroom on the second floor. My kids spend a lot of time in the basement playing with toys and video games. I would love a Pittsburgh potty down there nowadays.

Podcast with Jessa and Ben. I think this is the link to an YT alternative so that other couple doesn't get the clicks.
