Maybe there IS a heaven because that's where I've been today!

Please permit me to share my last few hours with people who will understand my euphoria. My husband and I are spending a few days in Florida, where I have zero colouring supplies. So, we went to Michael's. You guys, for the first time ever I held Copic markers in my hands!!1!   But, wait, there's a locked case with Winson & Newton markers!  Tons of colours available!  'Mr. F, quickly, find me Orchid!' 'Not there?'  'Shit.'  'Excuse me, miss, do you have Urine Yellow?'  'What do you mean there's no such colour?  I've SEEN it!'  Ok, hang on, what's this?  Another locked case?  'Prismacolour markers with a buy one get the second half off promotion, you say?'  'Mr. F, WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I DO?'  'I don't know if these colours are as nice!!'image.thumb.jpg.c43f85a407f04573e5bec51f

So that's what I did. But, hang on, it gets better.  We then went to Bokampers, which has in excess of 100 large tv screens. We claimed one for the Jets/Bills game. (In the forty-odd years I've known my husband, he has never been as obsessed with anyone or anything as he is with Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is now playing for the Jets. He looks like our middle son and has a similar personality. He wears his wedding ring when he plays!!!). I love football too but I brought my new supplies in to 'look at' and ended up starting a picture. It was heaven. Nirvana, even.

This took way longer than it would appear. I'm using my new pencils (couldn't use new markers as page would bleed when book closed) and I think I might do him in greyscale. We are now home, sitting outside in the rain, and I couldn't wait to share my excitement with my fellow colouring minions. It may be obvious that I partook of a libation or two. Sadly, Fitz and the Jets are, at present, losing. Thanks for your indulgence, should anyone have actually read this. Just a nice day for the Fascinateds. (Man, I hope I like these markers!)

You're in my home state and we must be sharing a coloring wavelength or something. I bought Copics today also!  Posted about it on my profile page.  Looks like you cleaned up with the Prismacolor set...nice!  I love my sets and cases, just like the one you got.  Sorry you couldn't get the orchid W&N. That one is out of stock everywhere!  Can't believe you won't love the Prismas and Copics...congrats!!!    :marker:

Oh, that's good to hear, @Tikobaby!  Thank you! I figured I can go back for some Copics and/or W&Ns once I see where I am deficient. Which colours did you get today?  Oh, don't answer, I will go to your page. It's so much fun to share all of this.

I have a small set of staedtlet markers. They are so nice. I also have a big gel pen set but can't figure out how to keep the ink under control.

Originally, I didn't post the colors on my page, but since you asked I just did so!  There were 3 or 4 more colors I had on the order to begin with, but to save money I deleted them.  Maybe sometime later...

I have the 20 marker Staedtler fineliner set and they are great for small/narrow areas.

All of those colours sound beautiful, @Tikobaby.  I can't wait to see how and where you use them.

Meanwhile, one of my favourite songs is 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light'. I thought of it because right now I'm in 'paradise by my iPhone light'!  I'm still colouring this nice whale (outside) even though it is completely dark. I think it looks good but I suppose I will know better in the morning.  I needed a colouring fix!

I have bought copics for my granddaughter, who is amazingly talented.  But so far, I am sticking with the colored pencils and loving them.

Coloring by the the light of your iPhone in the pitch dark?  That's pretty hardcore!

Haha. I guess it is kind of hardcore.  (Read: ridiculous.)

Gosh I'm so far behind on the blog right now. You guys have been busy.  I love it :)

I'm so happy for you to finally get some prismacolor markers @Fascinated.

I think you will love them.  They absolutely will bleed through so only use them on single sided pages!

I admire your tenacity to color by iphone light ;)   I have been known to keep the overhead light in the car on once it's too dark to color, if I'm waiting for my husband somewhere.    I do not like that it gets dark so early now.

Art will never get a job because Art doesn't want a job. If someone handed them a job they'd still turn it down. They're not interested in work, only grifting. Art & Ryann seem like such a toxic pair!

Art isn't going to get a job.  If they did, it would make their application for SSI next to impossible to get approved some day.  Still no donations.  People are just tired of them asking for hundreds of dollars every month and less than a year ago many thousands.  Another request for many thousands just isn't going to get traction.  I think moving is probably a good thing but they will end up having to leave everything behind since nobody is willing to donate.  Art saying they would bake pies and use some of the initial funds for pie making stuff just shows how they thought they would have no problem raking in donations from people.  And it hasn't happened. They should feel grateful that their airfare and housing (whatever that means) are covered and try to figure out how to move their bed.  Or sell the bed on facebook marketplace for (hopefully) a good price and buy a new (used) one when they get to the secret new destination.

...it’s not money they had to earn so they don’t care. Every decision they make is very reactive as opposed to proactive. They rarely think of the consequences.

This seems to be their bottom line. And apparently enough people are seeing that that no one's willing to waste anymore money on them! Sadly I doubt anything will make them stop and think - unless it's someone in their anti-work community who they trust (which I highly doubt they have). If someone they know personally finally opened their eyes to how ridiculous the anti-work movement is, I could maybe see one of them accepting how untenable that belief system is and making changes from there. So realistically? They'll live their lives as (attempted) master grifters.

2 bathrooms works for us as a family of 4. But if we had more kids, I would probably want another toilet somewhere.

I am pretty sure that that is the exact same fridge, or a very similar fridge, to the one my sibling and their spouse put in when they built their new house three years ago. It's fine except that the water that comes out isn't as cold as I prefer my water to be.

I don't Love or hate open plan homes. They are very convenient for someone like my mother, who can't hear you calling from another room but who can tell that you're talking from across the room and use her lipreading/face reading skills to fill in what she doesn't hear. (she has a hearing loss.) My sibling has one and it's convenient when they are cooking because they can keep an eye on the kids. But they also have a playroom that is not part of the open plan, which I think is essential so that you are not continually stepping on Legos.

And I tend to think that people with three or more bathrooms are not cleaning their own bathrooms. Myself absolutely love having my own bathroom but then again I live alone. I think that having IBS and sharing a bathroom would be very difficult to do.
