My first effort

Hi everyone! Here is my first attempt. Well, first attempt in over 16 years, when I used to color once in awhile in some of the Dover and Bellepheron books, and those big Daisy Art (?? Doodle Art ??) art posters they used to have in the drug stores.

It's from the Creative Haven Steampunk Fashions Coloring Book. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I'm not thrilled with all of the color choices I made, but for the most part I like it. I was particularly pleased with how all of the leather accessories and boots turned out. :)

Thank you! :):) I plan to. I'm now working on one from my Life in a Medieval Castle book.

I don't see any colours I would change, it is really beautiful exactly as it is, in my opinion.  I can't wait to see more, too. Fantastic job!

Am I missing something or is that a '1' where the '7' should be?  I'm trying to figure out the reason. I was distracted by the overall prettiness to notice before. Curious.

I like the inside of the umbrella, the feathers, and the striped tights best!  Nice job!

Sometimes clock manufacturers do weird things with the Roman numerals for symmetry's sake, which is why 4 is IIII to mirror the VIII at 8. Don't remember ever noticing 7 being just a I though! Hmm.

It's kind of strange, isn't it?  A seven looks very similar to a one!  Love the picture though!!

I used Marco Raffine colored pencils. And thanks!

I got if for Christmas, but it is readily available via Amazon. It's the Creative Haven line of Dover (I think) coloring books.

We were wondering about the "I" as the "VII," also. I'm not sure why they did it--maybe it was just a mistake?

Marco must be a good brand for the depth of colour you got as I am very impressed with all colour choices Its better than the cover I've seen in different colours too.

Im back on Amazon as usual always looking for more books and pens, pencils, etc etc lol!!!! My bank balance is freaking eekk hahaha

Gel pens the now but I seem to favour pencils for some reason.

Im the one that has been known to nick of with the kids colouring books hence why we'd have a tonne in way back so I'm really enjoying the adult ones now a days.

I'm doing some review reading before I decide on which markers and gel pens I want to get. So far (and not that I'm an expert by any means) I like these pencils. They seem to have good color, do some decent layering and blending, and are relatively inexpensive.

I'm planning on getting those pencils that were mentioned, the Marco Raffine or whatever they are.  However, I want to start with some sort of marker and I guess that gel pens are the way to go?  What brand?  I see Fiskars, TEKwriter...  I'm not going with expensive, I'm looking for the best quality that is relatively cheap.  I'm just starting out so I don't want to invest too much yet.

Oh this is a pretty one!   I love the feathers and the umbrella.   I also think the boots turned out great.   I'm surprised you said it was colored pencils.   Mine never look that vibrant, but I did just splurge on some prismacolors so I have higher hopes for them.

@Eater of Worlds you might check some of Curious' blog posts.  There are coloring supply reviews for colored pencils, markers and gels.

For whatever reason I missed these posts.  I'll look again and if I don't find them, I'll come back asking for someone to do the work for me ;-)

If you click on coloring supplies in the tag cloud it should bring up all the coloring supplies posts I have done.  I need to get off my butt and finish up books and markers.

Same here. 3 or 4 bathrooms in a house seem downright excessive to me. 😁 Here I would say nowadays the norm is 2 bathrooms in a house (sometimes, especially in older houses, only 1 bathroom upstairs where the bedrooms are plus an extra toilet downstairs where the living room/kitchen are). Similar in big apartments with 4 rooms, so living room plus 3 bedrooms or bigger. In smaller apartments, 1 bathroom is normal, in newly built ones often 1 bathroom and 1 extra toilet.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard of a house that has as many bathrooms as bedrooms here. It’s just not a thing.

I don’t think all McMansions have this, but I’ve seen a lot that do. I babysat for a family that basically lived in a huge McMansion. And there were 7 bathrooms (2 of them were 1/2 bathrooms). I remember thinking I’m glad I’m the babysitter and not the house cleaner!

This is so infuriating. As someone with ADHD… fuck him.

He actually said parents just need to do a better job of parenting instead of giving them meds. That made me roll my eyes so hard.

I live in Europe, in a rural area. Houses are of all kinds of types and styles. I don’t think I have ever visited a house with more than three bathrooms/half baths. Usually no more than two. Master bedrooms en suite are practicality non existent in our area and definitely uncommon in the whole country.
