Animal Kingdom (again!)

I've just seen all of the new work posted and they are all so nice and DIFFERENT!  Mine always seem to look the same. Maybe it's because many are by the same artist. I don't know. Anyway, here's my latest. He's ok.  My new pens haven't arrived yet so am still using coloured pencils. I bought some fine tip Pentel markers though, so maybe those will be decent. I also got the Creative Haven Art Nouveau Animal Designs book. I showed my family my secret hobby and my daughter-in-law wants me to colour something to frame for her little boys.  Yikes.  I don't know if I'm up to the task but this book might have some cute options (like monkeys!).

Cute! I want that book but i've already got too many. It's so neat when it's just leaves but an animal too.

Yeah I think at least some people have a different personal  "handwriting" while coloring, like I tend to pick the same color combos over and over again and have to make some effort to deviate from that.

I got this book solely because of @Fascinated's posts here.    I had just pulled about 30 pages out of different books to color, so I haven't had a chance to do anything from this one yet.

There is no such thing as "too many coloring books!"

got so busy with the comment, I forgot to leave my own comment on the post.   You did this with colored pencils @Fascinated?   My colored pencils are never this vibrant.  What brand are you using?  How hard to you press while coloring?

I love everything you have posted from this book.   Did you ever finish that big cat that you posted the WIP of?   I've been waiting to see him turn up here :)

This is gorgeous!  I love the beautiful colors and the way they all set each other off, yet complement each other and flow so smoothly.  It reminds me of a Roman mosaic!  Truly a lovely page...amazing job!   :marker:

Yes, I tend to press hard with them, and sometimes go over everything to the point that I've really coloured it twice!  For this I used some Indigo brand pencils, which is a bookstore in Canada similar to Barnes and Noble. They are a bit more vivid than the crayola but have weird shaped tips.

I posted a really bad photo of the finished cat under the other WIP post. But here he is again. I just can't get a good photo. It looks much better in real life. It ended up being a lot of work and I never really did fix his poor ears.

Try taking the page out into natural indirect light outside to take a photo and don't use a flash. My page/art photos are coming out better that way.

I am playing around with some crayola watercolor pencils i found in our supply box. I used to draw then go over with a water dipped brush, I tried dipping the pencil tip in water and I get a really vibrant color. I know that prism color pencils are awesome but pricy.

weird, I went back and followed every post on the blog so I'd get notices and somehow missed this one on the WIP post.

It turned out really gorgeous!   I don't think the ears look bad in the finished one.

I dunno. I couldn’t see a bates duggar marriage anymore.  Agreed if anyone it would be the younger kids but I just think the bates swim in a bigger gene pool now that they won’t fish from the Duggar one

up? Will they stay or will they go? If they go there will be trouble. If they stay there will be double....

      They’ll clash…..

How does capitalism and ableism prevent Art from working? Yes, capitalism sucks and ableism is everywhere. They still have marketable skills and are capable of doing things that bring in income. Just because a person was injured doing a particular job doesn't mean they're incapable of performing all jobs.

Are Art and Ryann ever along for anything other than relieving themselves? If Art were to find one or two places where Art could volunteer once or twice a week for 2 or 3 hours each time it could be so beneficial! Which also means Art won't consider it.

Art seems defiantly anti anything that might be even slightly beneficial to Art long term. My impression of Art's narrative is: I am bedbound and physically incapable of doing anything for myself at all and if I do anything without Ryann I will instantly spontaneously combust.

Fundy Fridays had a look at at Kelly Havens about a year ago and I haven’t had the heart to snark on her since. She’s treated this pregnancy and birth in a terrifyingly misinformed way and she and baby are lucky to have come out of it safely, but I think there’s some real issues at the roots of her behaviour. I just hope her current children and any future ones live safe, healthy lives.

That is one dangerously incompetent midwife, if she just advised to lie down for a bit when having a massive bleed! And I can't imagine the horror (as a doctor) if a child of mine one day decided not to have any antenatal care at all and then blithly called to say their "midwife" advised they lie down for an hour while having a massive bleed. I'm not even an obstetrician.
