Coloring Supplies ~ Markers ~ Part 2
Today I am going to continue on with my markers post, part 2. As usual, these are in no particular order.
Sargent Art 22-1520 Washable Brush Tip Markers, 20 Count
I am a big fan of Sargent Art products, so I was excited about these markers. Unfortunately, I won't be ordering them again. They worked really well when I first got them, but I haven't used them much, mainly due to just having such a wide variety to choose from and the last couple times I've pulled one out to use, it's been nearly dried up. The brush tips are literally dry. I can't have used them all up because there are some I haven't even used at all yet. It's a bit disappointing because my experience with Sargent Art has always been positive.
When they are partially dried out, they do not bleed through. I can't speak to what they are like when working properly, unfortunately.
I don't know if I just got a defective pack or what, but I would rather spend the money to replace them on the Sargent Art gel pens when they run out or some other new set to try. If anyone else has these, I'd be interested in your experience with them.
Pentel Felt Tip Sign Pen, Set of 12 Assorted Colors (S520-12)
This little set is one of my favorites. I will absolutely order them again. The colors are vibrant and these do not streak as long as you are careful. They ink flows very smoothly out of them and they are definitely one of my "go to" pens. This set also has brown and grey included which is pretty uncommon for the smaller pen sets, so it's a nice one to get to fill in those types of colors. These can bleed through, so I only use them on single sided pages.
Paper Mate Flair Porous-Point Felt Tip Pen, Medium Tip, 12-Pack, Fashion Colors (74423)
These are another favorite. This is not the exact set I have. I got the 16 count at Michael's. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure which 4 colors are not included in this set, but I think it's a shade of yellow (like a yellow-orange), a darker green, a darker purple and maybe a violety type color. These are the pens I usually take with me on "Dr. Days" because they are easy to grab and cover most of the colors needed for any page. There is no brown, so I have to grab another brown if I need it.
These fill in nicely as long as you color a bit slower. They will streak if you make large, fast strokes. They can bleed through if you use too much pressure, but generally don't. I usually err on the side of caution and use them on single sided pages.
Paper Mate Liquid Flair Porous-Point Pen, Medium Tip, 8-Pack, Fashion Colors (28503)
I just got these, so haven't used them very much yet. I like them on the little bits I have used them for. It's just a pretty basic set, but I buy lots of markers, so I can help you all make informed decisions. It's for science, it's not an addiction! These have a nice, fine point and are easy to use in small areas. I am not sure about bleed through on these, as I haven't used them enough yet.
Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip Pens 6/Pkg-Tropical Vacation
These are the same type as the set above. I really like them because they add a bit more "flavor" to the normal set. There is not a lot more to add to these because they are just more colors.
