Picture of the Day ~ 12.20.15

Curious

Another holiday one today.  This was done with gel pens, pentel felt tips and the antlers are Copic Walnut.   I tried to make the inside of the ears look like fur (I've been reading a book on colored pencil use), but it didn't work quite as well in practice as I had hoped.   It was my first real attempt though so hopefully I'll improve.  I might need to find a source for markers vs trying to apply colored pencil theory to markers.   More testing is definitely needed.

@Curious I hate to have to tell you this, but that looks more like a Chihuahua with antlers than a reindeer. Sorry!

I have 2 books (so far).  I bought the Colored Pencil Bible, but it's a bit too advanced for me.  I recently got a walter foster book on colored pencil drawing, which is more my current speed.  I haven't tried any of the projects in it yet, but have been reading about the different ways to blend colors and using different strokes like cross-hatching and making fur etc.

so I searched 'colored pencil bible' and duck duck go rates "How To Study Your Bible With Colored Pencils" as 4th most applicable. I didn't know that was a thing.
I should probably finish off some hobbies that are taking up space before getting too deep into new ones.

Oh Bible Journaling with pens and colored pencils is quite the thing.  I've seen it on Pinterest.

Jinger and Jeremy attended a screening of Candace Cameron's movie that's coming out next Friday. It's called Unsung Hero.

No surprise there. 7 out of the 8 Morton sons have a honeymoon baby. It’s almost creepy.

ETA: I’m not saying they all got pregnant on the honeymoon trip. Just that they all got pregnant within a month of their marriage. Their wives all had babies 9-10 months after the wedding.

When sexually active, it's always a possibility.

As for c-sections, I don't have very many friends who big families (those who do have lots of kids have had vaginal births), but I know when my mom's friend was having babies in the late 80's/early 90's, her doctor was unimpressed when she got pregnant for the fifth time because he said anything past three sections was dangerous. Whether or not that's true or just his opinion, I'm unsure, but it makes sense to me. You're cutting through a lot of tissue and layers, and things weaken with each delivery.

my best friend has 5 kids and the last were twins and she delivered them all naturally.
