Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Chapter 23
Square Candies That Look Round
I'm trying to keep myself from going to the coffee shop and buying a $4 brownie. They are very good brownies but I'm no longer in a place where a $4 brownie covered in chocolate art is affordable for my bank account or my health.
So instead I'm going to take a second and show you this screenshot of something I saw 5 minutes ago.
So that's how Grandpa Joe got out of bed.
Anyway, this chapter is useless. They look at some candies (or sweets, if you prefer) that have faces. The faces can respond to external stimuli.
Okay, this chapter is disturbing. How? And why? Are these souls of dead oompa loompas?
We also learn that the butterscotch and buttergin are making drunk oompa loompas. The children and Mr Wonka slide down a bannister. The adult women are out of breath. Mrs Salt is fat.
See, other than the disturbing bits about the implications of creating candies that are designed to be eaten that can see you while you eat them, this chapter is useless.
