Head Boops & Wet Nose Kisses

Our sweet not so little fuzz muffin has decided that running his fat butt up the dining room curtains after invisibles is a fabulous pastime! His neuter  appointment is next Tuesday at Spaynation, I'm sure they'll spoil him.

Life is so hard being an indoor kitty.... all the things to lay around on... the fancy scratchy post to keep the tosies razor sharp....

My mother's Siamese gets meat hooks like that from time to time, & she's usually "ok" (aka, not perfect) about letting us clip them.

I trust that Prince Thor would be an angel for them, right?  ;)

Good luck on the snipping. It's a fairly quick procedure, & I'm sure he'll be up & running in no time.

The last time Honey & I trimmed his nails he wasn't disagreeable exactly, we just caught him in a pouncy mood. He ended up wrapped in my jacket until he was 90% clipped.

And I really should punish myself for how terribly he is neglected.

@PennySycamore  It is!  My husband owns a couple pasture ponies and that saddle has made it's rounds around the house, it's in the dining room right now.  It's really just a saddle shaped kitten throne though.

My husband just sneaks up on the kitties when they're relaxing on the back of the sofa---clips 1-2 nails at a time.

Poor neglected baby! Our cats are also living in Durance Vile, forced indoors, where they sleep on the waterbed---or on whatever pillow isn't in active use.  Ever come back from the bathroom at night and have to move the Damnit, because your side of the bed is now occupied? *eyeroll*

We should ALL be ashamed of how bad our furkids are neglected. Mine are currently crashed out on the back of the couch. I swear...they actually had to meow for grub this morning...how horrifying! How neglectful! My duo are forced to live inside, forced to leave their hair all over the couch, the carpet, my jacket...they're forced to stand guard when mama takes off her human fur to get wet (which drives them INSANE)....they live a very rough life!

Here's a terrible story of feline neglect. Brace yourselves, it's horrendous.

My aunt usually gets up around 6:00am & feeds the cats (the aforementioned Siamese & a DLH). When I visited them yesterday, she said she slept in until 7:00am. The cats had to wait a whole extra hour to be fed.

I was about to call the ASPCA on them. Can you imagine such a thing?  :my_sad:

OH MY GOODNESS!! Such neglect! Waiting an ENTIRE hour to be fed...that's cruel, just cruel! Yes, call the ASPCA for such a horrid example of mistreatment of those poor, poor felines...I mean, they could just whither away and die of starvation having to wait a whole hour for their food!

So sad for the Dillards. When you lose a baby at that stage - whatever word you use for the loss - you have so little to prove they ever existed. You get so little time with them. I can't judge anyone for taking pictures, nor for sharing them if that's what they want to do. That was the only time in the world Jill and Derick got to hold their little girl, and obviously it is devastatingly sad but when you are in that position it is also so incredibly precious and full of awe - even joy, in a way. It's an honour to get that time with a baby you would have loved to carry for longer, and it's natural to want to share that pride.

It is so hard to tell the world you are a parent to a child who isn't here. These are the photos that make that real, in a way. It's the only moment with their daughter they'll ever get to share.

Semantics-wise, whether or not Jill technically cleared the 20-week mark that would magically designate Isla stillborn not miscarried, she laboured to deliver a clearly recognisable human infant. Her body changed carrying this baby and she may even have started to feel her move. It's a different experience to a first trimester mc (which can also be truly awful). It was probably not unlike her other births, just to a much smaller baby they knew wouldn't come home with them. And that's a horrendous thing to go through.

sorry, maybe this sounds speculative on my part. I mean this is how it felt to me. The one 'good' thing about being in the midst of my second trimester miscarriage was feeling I got to do this thing for my baby, that I would get to meet her and be with her for a little while. I loved her very much. I wish she could have stayed.

Bickle will be closing the organization's doors and opening a new, smaller organization.  (Because a name change will obscure the toxic, slimy ick no doubt)

Wait are we talking about that quilted coat? Was that coat $600? I thought AH rarely shopped for clothing outside of Goodwill?

It appears to be from Potter's Daughter.  At least, that's a site that Abbie mentioned.  The person who runs it seems to repurpose old quilts into coats and jackets.  I think it's a nice, artsy idea but it would make more sense if Abbie made it herself or commissioned someone to reuse one of her old quilts.  The coats are around $600 and above.  It's right up Braggie's alley though.  She ends up with a one-of-a-kind item that's super-special and expensive.  She thinks that she's great at interior decorating and has a keen sense of style.

Some I think are true believers that have found the One Weird Trick, and believe passionately that They are withholding knowledge from you for nefarious purposes.

This is the part I don't get. Who do they think this mysterious "they" are? Deep state? The government? Lizard people? Illuminati? Pharmaceutical companies? Some combo of those?

But the biggest thing to me is why do they think "they" would withhold information on potentially lifesaving treatments? I've heard people say it's because of profits, but if there was a genuinely effective treatment "they" would snap that up, market it, and profit off of it in a heartbeat if money was the issue.

The government would benefit from a treatment that keeps people healthy and in the workforce paying taxes. Pharmaceutical companies would benefit from packaging, marketing, and selling the treatment. Doctors and hospitals would be happy to get people cured and out of their already overloaded system.

Dead people don't buy things or pay taxes. There's no benefit for "them" to let people die.

And if it was some big deep state government secret or something, it wouldn't be something you could find on Facebook or Youtube.

None of this conspiracy theory mess stands up to any real scrutiny.
