  • National Certified Nurses Day - as my mom proved this isn't a profession, it's a calling.  Thanks to all of you for doing this crucial job ...for those of who are too squeamish for the squishier sciences.

Mr. Spoon brought home salted caramel chocolate Milano cookies yesterday.  Think he knew?

I shall go celebrate - right now!

I did not know of such a thing!  Tell Mr. Spoon I am grateful to know these exist before we go to the store.

It appears he started the celebration early.  Half the package is gone and I didn't eat but ?1?

I don't know if these are limited edition, but yes, you must investigate.

I don't honestly get that much caramel from them.  I would like them to be gooey, like a Twix, and they are not.

That grift is never going to end because after the W2 veterans have all passed on there will always be more veterans -- Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, whatever comes next.

I think those are going to be a little more difficult to romanticize than WW2. And harder to lead tour groups there, too.

But not the entire (known) world again. Yet.

I do find the flood myths fascinating given how widespread they are. It makes sense that the Eastern Mediterranean myths are very similar, but looking at how they've varied from each other is really interesting.

I think there were floods in that area because so many religions and area stories discuss being flooded.  I just don't think there's any chance that the flood covered the globe.

If the different religions were more open to discussions, we'd probably know a lot more about the history of the earth than we currently do.

PS Neighbors of the Pauls, if you are reading here--I'm a skilled legal researcher (non-school of the dining table variety), and from what I can tell from approx. 5 min. of searching the open internet: Haley is incorrect when she says there no noise ordinance where they live.

Yep. Former regulator here. Property records are public information so itʻs pretty easy to research whatʻs permitted vs. whatʻs actually happening on someone's land. If I were a neighbor, Iʻd also check on that fence extension - it may need a permit. FYI, in Jefferson County, FL, as in most other jurisdictions, code or zoning enforcement is complaint-driven.

And I thought they already had housing lined up too.

I thought the point of this move was partly because they had housing lined up.

I fear this move is going to end with yet another scramble when they arrive in “undisclosed location” with no plan in place.

At this point it will pretty much have to - they seem to be arriving with no housing, minimal belongings and pets.
