Owls and butterflies!  What could be better?   I love this.  It looks so happy.   I think you are right that the background should stay white.   I used to tend to fill in backgrounds and I have tried to stop doing that as much because I feel like it makes stuff look muddy and you lose some detail when you color everything in.    Of course, once you start it's too late to change your mind.

I have this book, too, but I haven't started one yet. I'm confused and intimidated by the owls and cats. Maybe because the rest of you do such a beautiful job.

I love this one, too!  The colours are awesome. It looks nice with the white background but I think I would colour it. I think it's a little less scary with the coloured pencils because you have to worry less about the ink drying and leaving lines. However, looking at it I'm not even sure what colour the background could be!  Anyway, you coloured this beautifully!

This looks awesome! You did great with the colored pencils and I like the background white, but it'd look good colored if you decided to go that way too!

You have done several pages that are WAY (way, way) more intricate than any of the cats or owls.   You can do them, no problem.   On some of them you have to make a little creative decisions because some lines seem to be missing (or added), but I'm positive you can do them based on the pages you have posted.

Thanks, @Curious.  I don't know why but I've pulled a few pages out and thought, I'll do this one, no, this one.  Then I stare at it and just don't know what colour to choose or what to do!  But, I will give it another try. I'm so impressed with everyone else's that I think I'm just intimidated.

Give one a try and don't worry about it. If you don't like the outcome, you don't have to post it.

I've had to whip out one of my Sakura Micron pens several times to actually draw in lines that are missing to make the design more clear in the cat and owl books. Had to do it a couple of times in the Curious Creatures book as well.   

Really vivid and colorful!  I like to color in backgrounds, but that's just me.  I think a bright yellow or orchid color would look good as background.
