Better Late Than Never- Christmas Edition

Bethella

I started these three before Christmas but never got around to finishing them. So I got them done on Tuesday when we had a snow day. The first tree is done in gel pens; in the second the tree is colored pencil with the ornaments and presents in gel pen and the mandala is all in colored pencil. This was my first time using the crayola twistable colored pencils and I"m not totally sure I like them. They seem fine for large designs, but they aren't fine enough for the little stuff like in the mandala and you don't have the option of sharpening them to a fine point. I'll probably keep using them because I'm stubborn and I spent money on them, but I think I'm a gel pen girl.

These are wonderful!  I particularly love the two trees. Beautiful colouring job!

(Also, I commend you for finishing them in January. I would not be able to look at them again until next December!)

I absolutely love these!  I haven't been coloring much lately, but it's fun to see what everybody else is doing!

Thanks guys!

@Fascinated My OCD said I had to finish them before I put the books away with the rest of the Christmas decorations.

I'd have to finish them too @Bethella :)

They are all great, but I really like the first tree.

I like the twistables because they color pretty smoothly and they are easy to take with you since they don't need a sharpener.   I tend to do relatively big designs so they work ok for me for the most part.   For the price, I think they are absolutely worth it.

I had a similar thought - maybe the honeymoon wasn’t Pearl-level awful, but suddenly being alone with a member of the opposite sex and/or the physical side of marriage was shocking to one or both. For all these couples claim being married is the bestest thing ever, it’s got to be a difficult adjustment for many of them.

They go from living with their parents to moving in and having sex with basically a stranger within a day. No wonder it’s scary and awkward.

Surely they could get a swing set second hand and at least get out in their backyard. I have a basic one that I got free on give away weekend.  My daughter loves sending her dolls down the slide. She needs to get outside for her own mental health. Buy some sidewalk chalk and let Spurgie through Fern go nuts.

I'm pretty sure they have a swing set in their very large yard. Jessa probably just sits on the deck with George while the other four wear themselves out. That's likely as far as she gets out of the house on a daily basis. She probably has her groceries delivered, and we know she loves Amazon.

Sorry I can’t help but see so many fundie women turning out 2 ways when they become adults: The first are the fundie women who grew up being sister moms who got used to being perpetually exhausted and just became fundie wives in the same situation as a wife. And the second is the fundie princess. Who was raised sheltered, isolated, and thinking she’s better and more special than everyone else because god. Examples are Braggie and Jill Rod. I wouldn’t be surprised if Haley is a fundie princess. Just a guess.

NOPE on making kids responsible for other kids’ safety- that is a huge recipe for disaster and the need for lifelong therapy.
