This well-dressed owl is from the Creative Haven Owls book.  Colored with Prismas, Copic Sketches, and Staedtler fineliners.   Happy New Year's Day, fellow Coloring Minions!    :marker:

Very nice!  How did you avoid creating lines where the marker overlaps?  That's one of the things that makes me hesitant about using markers.  That, and the fact that I make a lot of mistakes/change my mind while colouring, so being able to erase somewhat pencil marks so I can colour over them is a good thing.

For a background, I like using yellow because you can't see lines, for the most part.  I try to color fast and keep the leading edge wet, but streaks/lines seem to be inevitable.  If I get a streak that's overly noticeable and I don't like it,  I will edit it out before I post the photo of the page, just like I edit my photography so it looks the best it can.  Usually a noticeable line or streak happens when trying to color in a large area all at once so that's when it's tricky. Give markers a try!

Oh, I think I LOVE him. He would be quite a catch in all his finery.  It's just a really happy picture!

Do you do anything with them after completion?  They are all frame worthy, in my opinion!  You could hang your cats and owls together - it would look great.

Thank you!  Well, I have all my completed coloring pages stacked up on top of my books in one of my bookcases by the bed right now.  What little wall space we have is hung with my wildlife photography for the most part and some family photos.   I might pick a favorite coloring page and have something made by Mpix  at some point.  They have a lot of different products you can print your photos on and everything I've gotten from them has looked great.

Another great one.  What green did you use?  I love how you use relatively minimal colors, but your pages always really pop.  I tend to go crazy with a lot of different colors.

I also need a remind about what brand orchid is.  I might stop by Michael's after my PT on Monday and see if they happen to have it in stock there since online is a bust.

I used several greens in this page;  Prismacolor Emerald & Apple Green; Copic Lettuce Green & the darker Staedtler fineliner green from the 20 pack in the plastic case.  I like my pages to be colorful, vivid, and for the colors to set each other off to pop, yet work together so it doesn't look too "busy".

Orchid is a Winsor & Newton ProMarker color.  I really want to get a couple more of them, but you're right...online they are out of stock. Hope you can find it at Michael's. We have one of those stores near us so I may have to check there when I have time. I love my new Copic Sketch markers and have used them in my latest peacock page, which I finished last night. You will be proud of me because I colored it "realistically" and you know that is not my thing.  I think it looks nice and Mrs. Baby likes it a lot.

I am blown away.  It looks like one of the examples in my coloring books of work done by a professional as a 'how to' guide.  I would've immediately thought it was one of those if you hadn't posted it.

Well that was worded clumsily af, what I mean is DAMN! Tikobaby!!  You got mad skills!

Thank you very much for your kind and encouraging words!  I was feeling a bit blue this morning and your post has cheered me up...thank you. I'm so glad you like Top Hat Owl!

I hate open concept houses almost as much as I hate Abbie's cluttery "style." I hate that open concept became a trend and I feel like I've been screaming at clouds since like 2008 when it first started being "the trendy way." It seemed like at the time everyone wanted it so that they could see the TV from everywhere. But it's so impractical. Noise just bounces around. Ever go to a party at a house with just the big cavern with a kitchen in the corner? It get so noisy that people are shouting at each other. Vs a normal house, where people can go into other spaces to socialize in smaller groups - you can have some people in the kitchen, some in the living room, some in the family room. And it's just so frustrating when you need to find a way to close the kitchen to keep dogs and kids out.

I also think braggie's fridge is dumb. It comes with a pitcher for water. Great. I can buy a $35 pitcher with a filter and fill it in the sink and get the same result.

Their level of agressive entitlement is unreal. Too bad their fellow anti-work comrades aren't helping them out.

But where do they wash their hands after taking money and before handing over open, unwrapped food? How does the department of health track down who donated the Salmonella pie, if they aren't required to keep a list of who donated what product? How do the volunteers keep the open and unwrapped food from being contaminated by nonfood materials if it's just sitting on a table in a gym or in a parking lot.

Any I have been to in Germany and New Zealand had one person handling the cash and other people serving. Plus power and hand washing facilities. Usually with a few tables and chairs right next to the sale area to sit and eat immediately.
Plus all the ones in Germany I saw had display cabinets for the products like in cafes. I think the ones in NZ usually had insect shields and/or see through lids and weren’t right at the front edge of the table.

They have a “champagne lifestyle” on OTHER peoples “beer budget”

“Champagne wants” is probably a better word than lifestyle, though the fact that they demand it and insist on being entitled to it makes it more than a want in my eyes. 🤷‍♀️
