7+ hours down the drain

I was enjoying how the tree and the grass/field and houses turned out (coloured pencils). Then I loved the two little kitties in metallic gel pens. Then, if I may be frank, I totally fucked up the moon and the background. Ugh. My hand was shaking after this marathon. And I'm so sad that I hate the result.

I think it's beautiful. The moon adds to the sort of other-wordliness of the bright colors but the sky keeps it all grounded without competing with the other things in the picture.

Aw, thanks, @Rowan.  I think it's the colour of the sky that disturbs me most. It just seems...off. I thought about going over it in a different shade but, by then, the thought of more colouring made me want to cry. (Well, ok, not quite. But I definitely overdid it!)

I really love it.  I' m sad too you aren't happy with it since I go through that all the time.  Thank you for posting it though- I love your rainbow/ polka dots and the kitties.

it looks nice to me in the photo but things can look different in real life

sleep a few nights on it and then color a test patch with different shades on top of the current one  for the sky and try it out next to the other colors?

That's very good advice!  I will do just that.

I like it.  The sky looks fine to me.  AmazonGrace had some good suggestions.  Look at it again when you're not so tired and so over it...sounds like you really overdid it!  I take a lot of breaks and don't usually color more than 2-3 hours at once.

I like this one!   I don't think the moon is screwed up.    I totally love that tree.  So much fun!

We are always harder on our own work than others are.   I've found that pages I wasn't too happy with when I finished are not as horrible as I thought when I go back and look at them again a few days/weeks later.

It's all for a new begging opportunity.  They'll be asking to have everything replaced with either outrageously priced or allegedly luxury level items.

Absolutely- they will get to the "undisclosed location" and start posting about how they had to sell everything to move and first they need dishes and a bamboo dish drainer and some towels and art supplies. Go to the thrift store and make do. Many of us have had to make do in the early years with stuff we found/borrowed/got for free on Craigslist/Facebook/the side of the road.

Maybe for her it's all about making a statement to James, who she's insinuated wasn't handy with home improvements.

IIRC, she & James are the ones who remodeled that house from a community church structure into their home. Again, IIRC, much or all of that remodeling work was DIY - by her & James, who NGJ describes as an "inventor and a builder."

I for one don’t think this anonymous donor/supporter exists. I think they know others are more likely to give if there’s someone else validating the cause. Same goes for all those “one of my supporters has offered to MATCH all donations until X  time” posts that crop up occasionally.

Seattle has an a large LGBTQ leftist/ activist scene. It’s odd to me that they don’t seem involved at all in local activism given how vocal they are online about injustice. They  really need a community that’s NOT just a tumblr-esque echo chamber and codependent partners.

cause after a while those people will see through them. Its one things to yell through the I ferment in the comfort of your own bed. but to go outside and do on the grounds volunteering and work. that's a no go.

My son is quite light sensitive so he happily wore sunglasses and a hat as a baby. What he didn't like was the chin straps on baby hats so I would cut those off and he was then happy to keep it on.

My daughter was less happy to wear a hat or sunglasses as a baby. Sometimes she would and sometimes she would rip them off.

I wonder if whoever is offering to "help" Ryann and Art is aware of their grifting lifestyle.  I can see offering to assist a family member in crisis, helping them get back on their feet, navigate doctor's visits, apply for benefits, find a JOB, etc.  I doubt they are signing up to support these two and their pets for life.  Perhaps this kind person can help them see the way to a productive and less dependent life, but they are just so convinced of their own entitlement.  Gonna be interesting, and I suspect there will eventually be a reckoning.
