Picture of the Day ~ 11.22.15

We've been talking about various markers in the comments on the FJ Colorists Unite blog, so I wanted to post this page which I did using my new prismacolor and copic markers.   I also used sharpies because I only ordered a few of the other 2 since they are more expensive and I didn't know if I would like them or not.

Of course, I love them, so I will be slowly adding to my collection.  The yellow and the bright pinks are sharpies.   I don't remember all of which is which, but the green "leaves" in the center of the leaves is spearmint copic and the bright blue is robins egg blue copic

Geez, that's so good it almost looks like an app picture!  Gorgeous. Need some of those copic markers.

Art acts like moving is only something the poor have to deal with but it's really not.

Great point! Also, omg adulting is hard.

I never fully understood how important gratitude is for mental health until watching Artemis this past year. They went from successfully crowdsourcing an urgent move (should have been empowering, that took so much hard work and co-ordination on Artemis' part), and instead somehow reinforced all of their negative views about the world.

Gratitude helps us all be thankful for the little things, and appreciate the big things. But it is a habit, and if you don't make any effort to acquire it, no matter what good things happen in your life it's impossible to appreciate anything positive because of the constant pity party.

I floss and brush every day and have a mouthful of cavities.  My husband, who brushes, but doesn't floss regularly, doesn't.  Sometimes it's just your particular oral flora.

But yes, she needs to consult an actual dentist, not the internet.  Oral infections can be very serious!

I am of the belief that a large part of why a person is prone to cavities is out of their control. I know kids who brush twice a day everyday and are prone to cavities. And then here come my kids with zero cavities and I think they do a bad job of brushing their teeth. I’ve seen them. I know they miss plenty of spots. Yet not cavities. My sister and I never had cavities as kids. Both of us got our first cavity when we were pregnant with our second kid. So I just assume our lack of cavities is highly genetic.

I'm surprised she admits to having cavities (plural), I guess she's not the bestest teeth brusher, or Jesus has better things to do than protect her teeth against cavities. 🙄  And, yes, wtf asking over the internet for advice, dumb.

Doesn't Braggie have that Scare-maritan-like insurance? She probably hasn't been to the dentist in ages if she has cavities. Which is absolutely stupid and ridiculous as there is a dentist in the family and they could work out a payment plan. I wonder how her gums are?

But then there is all that Anthro on sale and the $500 MCM cabinet, not to mention the super expensive new stove and the too big fridge to buy. She has her priorities after all.

As she has cavities I worry about the state of the children's teeth.  I don't believe they're get twice yearly check-ups. Does she make them floss and brush twice daily or is that yet another parenting job she sluffs off on BroDads/ SisMoms?  BraggieShaun won't pay for college, would they pay for braces if needed? [What about glasses?]

I've never had a week of pain after a filling, actually never had any pain after a filling. If Braggie needs a root canal likely the tooth is already dead/ there is infection.  If left untreated the infection will make its way to the bone. More damage, more pain, bone grafts, implants, much more expensive to fix.

Braggie here's an absolutely amazingly brilliant idea:  Stop being an idiot martyr and go back to the dentist.  Something is wrong -- get it fixed!!  If you need a root canal get one. Don't just yank out the tooth (teeth) and leave the space. The rest of your teeth will slide. around.  Salt water and clove oil are not the answers.

Oh and Jesus is not going to fix your teeth even if he does love you the best.

Her kids do get braces. Which seems to be the fundie way. They care much more about things that make them and their children look better. All about the aesthetics! She posted about Della’s palate expander. She had to do that before she got braces.
