Picture of the Day ~ 11.17.15

This was an experiment in oil pastel "crayons."    They were interesting and I can see the potential in them, however they do not have a pointy tip so I have trouble using them in areas that aren't large.    Here I used them on the big stars and rainbows and then switched to markers for the rest of the picture.

It's hard to see all the nuances in the scan, unfortunately.   I laid down whatever lighter color I wanted, then added a darker color of the same or a similar color (like yellow, then orange) and blended them to fill out the rainbow.   It's more noticeable in the original.

I both love and despise oil pastels. They can be so messy!

What brand are you using?

just some cheapy crayola ones.  I'd never seen them before so I wanted to give them a try.   If they were sharper I would use them more, but the point is so blunt that I have problems using them in smaller spaces.

Absolutely! It was disgusting for him to go to the mall and lear at people regardless but the fact that he made a sermon about it?!!! WHO DOES THAT!?! I really hope he's investigated after that.

This article has a good overview of the NAR & Seven Mountain Mandate crowd and how they have come to prominence:

      Quote

It’s true that the NAR networks come from the amorphous nondenominational, charismatic sector of American evangelicalism that seeks to restore the supernatural dimensions of early Christianity. Historically these groups have been outside the evangelical mainstream.

But we have collected data showing just how far these NAR-associated beliefs and practices have spread within American evangelical communities. The present-day reach and influence of these ideas may be shocking to those acquainted with conventional evangelicalism. Charismatic theologies, NAR prophecies and radical politics that once operated on the margins of evangelicalism have moved to the center of the action. Perhaps unsurprisingly, this transformation has a lot to do with Donald Trump.

Ok folks. I've got a good one for ya. Dude actually put us on the map for a change. Pastor Bobby Leonard of Monroe, NC is the founder of Bible Baptist Tabernacle. This is a local findie Baptist church/school. Alot of skirts only women attend this church. Well to my surprise his type of crazy has gone worldwide. A video surfaced of him saying women are at fault for getting raped if they are wearing shorts.

"If you dress like that and you get raped and I'm on the jury, he's going to go free because you know, a man is a man. A man is a man." Those were his exact words. If this has already been discussed, I apologize.  I'm just glad this way of thinking was exposed.

The first thing I thought when this first came out was I really wish someone would ask him how many people he's raped.
