The Demon and the Squirrel

I saw some bright yellow goldfinches earlier, so I stepped out to see if I could get a few photos.

They flew away, but I saw a squirrel at the bottom of the feeder.

Then I changed the focus.

Oh my!  That squirrel is mighty foolish.  What is it thinking?!  (Why didn't I notice it before?!)

So I moved a bit and got a couple more similar shots, but without the obstructions.

What I didn't expect was what happened next.

Oh no!  Run, squirrel!

Apparently the squirrel has more guts than I do.

Demon overlord is disgruntled by the lack of respect.

Squirrel was unfazed, so Demon slunk off to investigate something smaller and more easily intimidated.

I would not recommend squirrel do this with Hunting Overlord, I assure you.

White cat chased a squirrel earlier today - there was quite a convoluted path across the yard - standoff, circles, run, pause, circle - but squirrel got into the crabapple and then the kitty was coaxed to come in for treats.

But yes, I think Demon plays much more than she intends any harm.

Very interesting pics!   Our yardcat Sammy is so fat and well fed by Mrs. Baby that he lies under the feeder oblivious to the birds and squirrels around him.   I did, however, have a shock the other day when I heard a commotion and saw a raccoon grab a squirrel and take off with the poor thing hanging from its mouth.   Freaked me out and I wish I hadn't seen it.

Blaming the parent is a cop out and empowers the child to act out.

Absolutely - kids are individuals just like adults.  All you can do is your best but nobody is able to be ON 100% of the time without breaks.  We're not machines.

It's moving day for the entitlement twins.  Anyone want to guess when their next grift will be?  I am sure it will be less than a day for their next "funding request" to appear.

My guess is that some of their "boxes*" will have been lost, damaged, stolen, etc and they will be needing the items** in those particular boxes replaced ASAP.

      * boxes... if any boxes even exist. They collect free money then do whatever they want.

** items... the lost boxes will "contain" their most valuable belongings so they can beg for as much money as possible.

You know, it just occurred to me.. why would Josh even think he deserves another hearing? He is nobody but a minor D-list player.. and a bad one at that. Yeah, I know we're all equal under the law, but... he's not all that..

I still can't believe I was rooting for Anna when they went to DC. I honestly thought she was open to new ideas as she met people who were smart and active and doing things.

To be fair to yourself, that was over ten years and three scandals ago, so your optimism hadn’t yet taken all the hits. We hadn’t seen Anna’s true colors. All we saw at the time was a heavily edited reality show. The smoke and mirrors were working overtime. The severity of IBLP beliefs that the Duggars and others in the cult lived by were whitewashed by TLC.
