Eating & getting clean, Little Thor has to have at least some little toes hanging out!

Yes they come to the office with me :my_biggrin: it's great to be married to the boss!

Nothing so restful before bedtime as seeing baby kittens growing and doing well.:happy-cheerleaderkid:

MOAR PICTURES!!!! (Please, never mind the average couple-year-old laptop is probably more powerful than ENIAC on its best days: the Internet exists so we can have arguments with complete strangers thousands of miles away---and most importantly, for sending Cat Pictures!)

These literally made me smile; I love the little bit of side-eye you're getting in the third picture. It's nice for all of you to be able to be together during the day--you can never get too much kitten time!

@Season of life... Hessie's a shifty li'l girl, but super sweet. Little Thor is hilarious during feeding time. First he bats at whatever is in front of him-both paws. All the while bitching because there's no food in his mouth. I get the syringe in there, he starts, fast & furious... I have to slow him down or he overloads & I make him stop....he bitches some more & let's out this Lion Rawr. Mouth wide-head back: "WOMAN FEED ME! I AM KITTEN!" And then, clamp, suction, silence/smacking. I need to get video of it. Sometimes (heres the sadist) I pull back just to make him roar. It's so damn cute. And he purrs big purrs. :my_biggrin: :kitty:

the cute....it burns!!!! oh my gosh...

Your stories of Thor remind me of the stories I was told of my Luke...he was a bottle baby too...well, him and his sister. Luke STILL thinks he's starving all the time. Luke was the runt of the litter and now he's a 16lb monster. His sister was two of him as a kitten, now she's a 10lb prissy kitty.

My bottle babies are massive lap cats now...hope Thor and Hessie turn out the same way.

I remember those smacking sounds and how greedy my little babies were--they wore out poor mama cat and I would feel so sorry for her. They would gang up on her, push her down and consume, consume, consume. I loved how tight and full their little bellies would get, and it was always nap time right afterward. I feel that watching a warm, milky little pile of kittens sleep is a natural way to lower one's blood pressure.

I enjoyed your description of feeding time--feisty kittens demanding chow are adorable! I didn't have to bottle feed mine, but I can imagine how much dedication and love it takes to hand raise kittens. I can tell from your posts you are doing it joyfully, and I've said it before, but once again doesn't hurt--I'm happy to know your little beans found a safe haven.

nothing cuter than a pile of milk-drunk kittens...heck, my two boneheads are still cute when they pass out after gorging themselves on dinner.

In case you all haven't noticed...I am a cat lover! I'd have more but I think hubby would divorce me!

@feministxtian:  Husbands are adorable and wonderful critters (*have the totally best one in the Western Hemisphere, and dares anybody to bring on all comers*) but kitties are WAYYY  special. Maybe if you take Hubby to the pound, he'll get adopted by the Right Cat for your household?

(We had a lovely gray baby who literally walked from her cage at the Baltimore shelter into my DH's arms, purring all the way. He had to make arms to support samira-the-kitty-cat, and when he called to me, and I saw she was carefully grooming his face---well, THAT catchild is totally gonna be adopted.)

Go,  tiny catbabies, go and GROW!  Uhhh, please, more pics?  Lots more?  Kitty-pix are sooooo good for my serenity and blood pressure--as are RL cats. *but glares at the Awful FurBrats who take up a whole lot of bed*

Well my boyfriend is almost 20 years older than me. I‘m in my thirties and we are on an equal footing. We split the bills so no one is financially dependent from the other. I think power imbalance is less about the age gap than personality and money.

There are definitely some age gaps I side eye even though they are both adults. Like an 18 year old with a 50 year old.

I guess I’m one of the few that wasn’t surprised or impressed by the Dillards’ decision to put Izzy in public school. Dwreck went to public school and really wants Izzy to be the third generation Pistol Pete…it was painfully obvious that wasn’t going to happen if Jill homefooled him. It was just a matter of time, imo, and was always going to happen whether Jill liked it or not.

I'd think you can date whoever you want to date, regardless of their facial features. I'm really short, so I often get mistaken as much younger, I don't know if I have babyface or not, I think it's just the height.

As long as both are over 18 - who cares? Which age difference will work depends very much on the circumstances of each couple, and what they want from the relationship.

My husband is the same age as me, but it just turned out that way, and I’ve never thought or cared about whether one of us looks younger or older. That may change over time as well, and what do you do then? Divorce, because looks don’t “match” anymore? That’s just ridiculous.

Before I met my husband, I had some long-term relationships with various age gaps. With my first boyfriend, I was 17 and he was 22 when we met (stayed together for three years), with my second, I was 20 and he was 28 (yep, that’s 8 years - but it just worked out well at the time), and with the third one, I was 23 and he was only 21. I never had the idea a boyfriend absolutely had to be within a certain age range. It was always more about life circumstances and things we had in common rather than age.

We have a trifecta.  Florida Man.  Meth.  Imaginary girlfriend.

I thought about if there was a possibility that Matthew really thought Emma exists in some kind of parallel universe that he could only visit when on meth, which would be sad.

Then, I thought the "I can only see my girlfriend when on meth" seems to indicate that Matthew knows there is no Emma, and is hoping to use that excuse as a ploy for sympathy.  So I originally gave this story a laughing emoji.

But what if Matthew really thinks Emma is real, but also knows that no one else believes in her?  Apparently, he never called her imaginary, he just said that he could only see her when he "was tripping".

But what if it's true?  Emma exists in this other place, and he can only see her by taking a drug that is destined to fry his brain poison his body with death as the eventual outcome?  Does she understand this?  Why isn't she encouraging Matthew to stop taking meth and find a woman on his own realm?  It's a well-known trope, the story of lovers kept apart by astronomical forces, but unless one can find a way to cross over the story always ends in sadness.  Matthew seems ready to kill himself to see you, Emma.  Why don't you cut him loose and refuse to see him?  It's the best thing for both of you.  Or are you so selfish that you'll bask in the attention of a man willing to kill himself for a few hours in your presence, with no chance of a lasting relationship?

Damn.  Although I think Emma is a figment of Matthews imagination, maybe he believes she real in some aspect.  Someone who loves him best when he's on meth, when everyone else would like him to clean up.

Matthew, this is the power of drugs.  You like meth so much you've invented a reason to keep taking it.  Whether you really see Emma when you're tripping, or you make up your time with her after you've come down, this isn't healthy.  I'm sorry for you, Matthew, because this isn't going to end well.

Now I have to replace my laughing emoji with a sad one.

My mother's family's farm (in northern California) was the stable touchstone of my childhood, the place we went for many holidays & most summers, if only for a week or two at a time. My mother was a travel enthusiast, my father was in the military, my younger sister & I grew up in the back of a car. Been in every state in the union except maybe North Dakota, spent three months in Europe, three months in Mexico -- all before I was a teen. I realized, as an adult, I don't actually like traveling. It makes me anxious. My mother kept traveling up until shortly before she died.

This place is much nicer when there aren’t drunk douche nozzles trying to start WWIII with my sister.

Last time I was here I brought my sister. There was a drunk douche cannon holding court here. He and my sister took mutual exeception to each other. Well he first then my sister responded.
We got out of there before he got even dumber since there’s another brewery across the street.  Drunk fucker didn’t follow us and I think some flashing lights a few minutes later were for him.
