Eating & getting clean, Little Thor has to have at least some little toes hanging out!

Yes they come to the office with me :my_biggrin: it's great to be married to the boss!

Nothing so restful before bedtime as seeing baby kittens growing and doing well.:happy-cheerleaderkid:

MOAR PICTURES!!!! (Please, never mind the average couple-year-old laptop is probably more powerful than ENIAC on its best days: the Internet exists so we can have arguments with complete strangers thousands of miles away---and most importantly, for sending Cat Pictures!)

These literally made me smile; I love the little bit of side-eye you're getting in the third picture. It's nice for all of you to be able to be together during the day--you can never get too much kitten time!

@Season of life... Hessie's a shifty li'l girl, but super sweet. Little Thor is hilarious during feeding time. First he bats at whatever is in front of him-both paws. All the while bitching because there's no food in his mouth. I get the syringe in there, he starts, fast & furious... I have to slow him down or he overloads & I make him stop....he bitches some more & let's out this Lion Rawr. Mouth wide-head back: "WOMAN FEED ME! I AM KITTEN!" And then, clamp, suction, silence/smacking. I need to get video of it. Sometimes (heres the sadist) I pull back just to make him roar. It's so damn cute. And he purrs big purrs. :my_biggrin: :kitty:

the cute....it burns!!!! oh my gosh...

Your stories of Thor remind me of the stories I was told of my Luke...he was a bottle baby too...well, him and his sister. Luke STILL thinks he's starving all the time. Luke was the runt of the litter and now he's a 16lb monster. His sister was two of him as a kitten, now she's a 10lb prissy kitty.

My bottle babies are massive lap cats now...hope Thor and Hessie turn out the same way.

I remember those smacking sounds and how greedy my little babies were--they wore out poor mama cat and I would feel so sorry for her. They would gang up on her, push her down and consume, consume, consume. I loved how tight and full their little bellies would get, and it was always nap time right afterward. I feel that watching a warm, milky little pile of kittens sleep is a natural way to lower one's blood pressure.

I enjoyed your description of feeding time--feisty kittens demanding chow are adorable! I didn't have to bottle feed mine, but I can imagine how much dedication and love it takes to hand raise kittens. I can tell from your posts you are doing it joyfully, and I've said it before, but once again doesn't hurt--I'm happy to know your little beans found a safe haven.

nothing cuter than a pile of milk-drunk kittens...heck, my two boneheads are still cute when they pass out after gorging themselves on dinner.

In case you all haven't noticed...I am a cat lover! I'd have more but I think hubby would divorce me!

@feministxtian:  Husbands are adorable and wonderful critters (*have the totally best one in the Western Hemisphere, and dares anybody to bring on all comers*) but kitties are WAYYY  special. Maybe if you take Hubby to the pound, he'll get adopted by the Right Cat for your household?

(We had a lovely gray baby who literally walked from her cage at the Baltimore shelter into my DH's arms, purring all the way. He had to make arms to support samira-the-kitty-cat, and when he called to me, and I saw she was carefully grooming his face---well, THAT catchild is totally gonna be adopted.)

Go,  tiny catbabies, go and GROW!  Uhhh, please, more pics?  Lots more?  Kitty-pix are sooooo good for my serenity and blood pressure--as are RL cats. *but glares at the Awful FurBrats who take up a whole lot of bed*

I think she unenthusiastically said yes to the first man Scotty Brown (not/never father of the year) convinced/ coerced to take her and the 6 step kids.

Hope she is happy, but intuition tells me no, and that she believes the unhappiness is normal married life.

Really really really hope she wasn't "convicted" to have more children.

Childless semi-old catlady here. I don't hate kids. I hate parents who don't bother to teach their kids (age apropriate, of course) about boundaries. I'm quite happy to let kids be kids. But if they start to actively pester me and intrude on me (like trying to drink from MY lemonade in a Café, or wiping their chocolate covered fingers on my backpack during train rides...) then I will speak up and tell them to stop, and I'm fully aware that to the innocent bystander I might come across as 'hating' kids, especially since I might be a bit worked up at that point. I'm not blaming the kids, they don't know better. I'm blaming those parents who shy away from putting a brake on their kids' (sometimes) too exuberant behaviour.

What’s funny is I often say this about dogs! 🤣🤣🤣 Every time I find myself hating a dog, I realize I just hate how horrible the owner is. It’s always someone who lets their dog get away with the most horrific behavior at the expense of other people.

I have a bunch of kids and as much as I love them they also drive me nuts.  They can be loud and messy.  The younger ones are still figuring out where their personal space ends and other people's (mostly mine!) begins.  But I can't ever imagine them doing something like drinking someone else's lemonade.  And if they ever took leave of their senses long enough to try, I would deal with it ASAP and also buy you another lemonade.

My kids are my responsibility and if they act up in public it's my job to correct them or take them somewhere else so they aren't disturbing others.

But I have also occasionally come across people who do seem to resent children being present in public at all.  Don't think they should be brought to restaurants, etc.  I couldn't say what percentage of the childfree population feels that way, but people like that do exist.  And I think it's a shame because (a) how do you teach kids to behave in places like restaurants if you don't take them to practice, and (b) if I've put in the work to teach my kids how to behave in various places and they are not being disruptive, they really do have just as much right to be there as any other segment of the population.

It makes me wonder: would these modesty-fundies be okay with swimwear on girls-only trips?

In this case it is filmed and published so the same standards as public places would apply but what if it was a private moment between friends and family?

For instance, Muslim women do not dress with the same modesty standards in the private of their household.

There is also a toy rabbit with a pink ribbon in the picture.

Either they use it to honor Isla or it’s an announcement for a girl.

My guess is to honor Isla, since she'd be a few months old now if she made it, but could be both.
