Babies Vet Visit

Imrlgoddess

I took the muffins in this morning to see our family vet.  They hadn't gained any significant weight all week and I was worried. He said they were close to dehydration and gave them both some fluid.

They've been fed twice since the visit and ate a little better than they did yesterday. Dr. Lambert is an older fellow who still practices simply because he adores animals, honestly I don't know how he stays in business because he works with everyone who walks in the door. He told me to keep feeding them like I have been, with Pedialyte mixed into their formula. He also told me to feed them water to help combat the dehydration.

He was hopeful but honest given that I don't know the condition of their mother & what she may or may not have had going on. Please keep lifting them up & lighting candles for them.  The muffins and I appreciate ya'lls prayers.

New pictures coming soon. :my_shy:

Will double down on the candles and incense---and may you and your dear spouse be blessed richly for all that you are doing for the babies.

My thoughts and well wishes are with you and the muffins.  Fluids and more fluids.  A hard road - but I hope everything works out for you all.  And many blessings on Dr. Lambert.  Those old fashioned vets are the best.

I'll ask Lady Bast to watch over the babies. Tiny kittens are so hard - thank you for taking care of the pretty babies!

May all the Blessed Eternals, by whatever name one calls Holy, look kindly upon those small cat-momma-less-babies.

(No insult meant, Imrlgoddess, but you are NOT a Usual kitty-momma who can make good milk with colostrum and keep them perfectly snuggly---but I admire immensely your attempts, and ask the Deity's blessings and aid for you in your compassion.)  May they be graced to become Big Mighty Huntahs, growing in health and strength.

But if this is not to be: may they have an easy going, and wait happily on Rainbow Bridge for escorts into Wonderful Joy.

A thousand's worth and another thousand's times worth of blessings on rescuers of all sorts, and a million-eleventy blessings on animal professionals (*paging Dr. Lambert, DVM!*) who use their skill and resources to help---and kinda forget about the weekly budget for rent, meds, and insurance for a while, while they work to relieve suffering.

In peace and hope, and remaining sincerely yours,

samira

I can't top @samira_catlover's blessing (and I would never try), but I wish you, Thor, and Hestia good things. It really is tricky when you don't know what happened to or with their bio-mom. I'll keep hoping and praying for y'all.

@Blahblah: Oh, gosh, there's another kitty who likes to play at being Roadkill.  Our Senior Cat from a shelter, Lucky (?maybe part Maine Coon?--any road, he is a HUGE kitty) sprawls out the EXACT same way.  Dunno whether he's trying to dump excess heat or whether he just wants a belly rub.

Health and strength to all the horrible spoiled-rotten awful FurryBrats (yes, even canines: the Eternal made them, so there must be a good reason) who share our lives----and lots of the same, plus good wishes and hope, for FurBabies in shelters and foster homes!

Thank y'all so much! They ate well last night & this morning. I've upped the water intake so it seems to be helping. I discovered the most wonderful thing when cleaning Little Thor's face, He Purrs!  It's the cutest damn thing ever!

@Blahblah that's a big kitteh! That's where I hope these end up. Spoiled & poofy.

Sending ALL the love n hugs to you and your little beans. We're pulling for you - me, DH, and our four fur babies - Josie, Lily, Gilda, and Sonny. Wish I had a good picture of all of them, but here's a recent of Miss Gilda and her fluffy white socks.

I think she unenthusiastically said yes to the first man Scotty Brown (not/never father of the year) convinced/ coerced to take her and the 6 step kids.

Hope she is happy, but intuition tells me no, and that she believes the unhappiness is normal married life.

Really really really hope she wasn't "convicted" to have more children.

Childless semi-old catlady here. I don't hate kids. I hate parents who don't bother to teach their kids (age apropriate, of course) about boundaries. I'm quite happy to let kids be kids. But if they start to actively pester me and intrude on me (like trying to drink from MY lemonade in a Café, or wiping their chocolate covered fingers on my backpack during train rides...) then I will speak up and tell them to stop, and I'm fully aware that to the innocent bystander I might come across as 'hating' kids, especially since I might be a bit worked up at that point. I'm not blaming the kids, they don't know better. I'm blaming those parents who shy away from putting a brake on their kids' (sometimes) too exuberant behaviour.

What’s funny is I often say this about dogs! 🤣🤣🤣 Every time I find myself hating a dog, I realize I just hate how horrible the owner is. It’s always someone who lets their dog get away with the most horrific behavior at the expense of other people.

I have a bunch of kids and as much as I love them they also drive me nuts.  They can be loud and messy.  The younger ones are still figuring out where their personal space ends and other people's (mostly mine!) begins.  But I can't ever imagine them doing something like drinking someone else's lemonade.  And if they ever took leave of their senses long enough to try, I would deal with it ASAP and also buy you another lemonade.

My kids are my responsibility and if they act up in public it's my job to correct them or take them somewhere else so they aren't disturbing others.

But I have also occasionally come across people who do seem to resent children being present in public at all.  Don't think they should be brought to restaurants, etc.  I couldn't say what percentage of the childfree population feels that way, but people like that do exist.  And I think it's a shame because (a) how do you teach kids to behave in places like restaurants if you don't take them to practice, and (b) if I've put in the work to teach my kids how to behave in various places and they are not being disruptive, they really do have just as much right to be there as any other segment of the population.

It makes me wonder: would these modesty-fundies be okay with swimwear on girls-only trips?

In this case it is filmed and published so the same standards as public places would apply but what if it was a private moment between friends and family?

For instance, Muslim women do not dress with the same modesty standards in the private of their household.

There is also a toy rabbit with a pink ribbon in the picture.

Either they use it to honor Isla or it’s an announcement for a girl.

My guess is to honor Isla, since she'd be a few months old now if she made it, but could be both.
