Royal Cat/Pampered Pets

Here's my latest page. From Pampered Pets again.  That book is fantastic and I've already started another page.  Copic Sketch, Prismacolor, Blick, and Copic Ciao markers and Winsor & Newton ProMarkers.  For those interested, I am also going to post the page before editing on my profile page so you can compare them.

Brilliant picture, the unedited pic looks good as well. Is the book another Dover one? All the pages you have done so far in this book make me want to get it. Think I might go check Amazon UK and see if they have it!

Edit - Never mind, they don't have it :(

Sorry, I missed this post, @caszandra.  The book is put out by Racehorse Press, but I see that you've checked it out already. Sorry it's not on Amazon UK.  It's a great book...am really enjoying the designs by my favorite coloring book artist, Marjorie Sarnat.  Glad you like the page!  :my_shy:

I found it on Amazon with help from @OnceUponATime, it is on pre-order here and should hopefully have it in the next week or so when it is released.

not yet. it's on preorder until 5 may.

there are samples on the artist's website to help you cope another week ;)http://www.marjoriesarnat.com/pampered-pets/

Thanks for this link!  I was wondering, though, when you went to print them, did they come out full size? Because for some reason, I can't quite figure out how to print them full size, one on each page.  I could be technologically impaired, so I was wondering if you were able to figure it out?

I  haven't printed any off her site yet, but I did have a similar problem with dover samples. I print using Paint, and the trick seems to be making sure the page layout is set the right way. Also scale it if you have that option (page setup, or print setup) <- see spoiler. You can also center it, I don't bother. Try it with one first, because sometimes the samples end up really pixelized.

Thanks so much for the screenshot! I tried to print it using Preview, but even with adjusting the scale and everything it still won't fit the page.  But I figure that I can still print them smaller, and they will be perfect for when I don't want a full size project to color! That might actually come in handy, because it does take a lot of time to complete a page.

Beautiful!  I really like the black you use.  I need to get that on my wishlist immediately.   I really like how you use only a small selection of colors, but nothing looks muddy.  I feel like mine turn out too blended when I use a small number of colors.  I use ALL the colors ;)   I am going to challenge myself to use only 5 colors on something soon, I think.

It's been awhile since doing this page, but just looking at it now I think there are about 10 different colors used. I never pay attention to how many colors I use...just use what I want to see on the page.  Glad you like it!   :my_shy:

I'm just looking at it again, too, @Tikobaby. I remember thinking when you posted it, but was in a hurry and failed to mention, that you impress me so much. Specifically here it is about the littles areas you left white on the kitty's mouth and tail (and eyes but I could see me doing that, too)!  I mean, there's no white anywhere else. And it looks so perfect. I would have coloured those bits for sure. It might sound like a small detail but it's a really wonderful decision. Ok, that's a rambling, bordering on nonsensical, post. Short version: you are amazing.

I just noticed the cat has different colored eyes when I went back to look at the white places, @Fascinated mentioned.  Very nice touch :)

Thanks so much for your kind words, @Fascinated!   :my_shy:   I'm really glad you like the picture.  I wanted to be able to see the cat's expression so I left its mouth area white and gave it a black and white tail to go along with it.

I see Ezra's actions quite differently. I think he is 100% dutiful child and following along with exactly what his parents want. I see zero evidence of him rebelling or even noticing that he is limited. I doubt he even looked at going to college. Until he truly wants something that his parents won't allow or gets more time out of his bubble, he looks ready to follow exactly what Abbie plans for him.

For Simon, we see him less with the little kids than Ezra. Abbie sometimes talks about his cooking, but it's been ages since they did a dance video and she doesn't feature Simon very often. He's only 15, right? so he still has a little bit to go before we will find out what's next for him.

The way she's phrased it is she's teaching her how to run a house, at an age where most are learning to dress themselves. I really hope it is poor phrasing.

Lots of children want to help mommy and daddy around the house and kids learn by imitating other people.

The way Allison is phrasing it (especially the „adding ingredients without spilling“) seems more like introducing chores at a very young age because otherwise those big families don’t work when kids are homeschooled.

I can’t believe I forgot the Duggars! Of course there is Joshua James and then many kids later they had a James.

Some fundie families reuse names. They also have a son named Edgar Ashburn. And then have a younger son named Ashburn. Chris Maxwell reused a name on his daughters. His older daughter is Ruthann Elizabeth and his younger daughter is Elizabeth Grace. The Campanas did this as well. They have a son Nicholas Frank and then another son named Frankie. They also have multiple daughters with a version of Mary in their name. They have Mariah, Gabriella Mary, and Gracia Marie. I think fundies run out of ideas and just reuse names they like.

Now now, don't do Chris and NR Anna dirty like that. They pray for weeks and schedule a 30 min block to deeply discuss those names! If they reuse a name, it's because God wanted them too 😛

Gary seem to enjoy going around to churches who have lost their pastor and doing a drop-in preaching.  He never offers to take the job himself.  Is it just too much like real work?  I figure that the pay isn't great either and Gary has no intention of working a real job so he can also keep up a church.  He's in a bind.  All he wants to do is be a traveling evangelist and that just isn't working out for him.  He talks a lot about leading people to God but, when the chips are down, Gary's not going to step out of his comfort zone to spread the word.
