A Creative Cat with Mini Elephants.

This one took me a few days to do but it was worth it.  It is from the Creative Cats book by Creative Haven, I used Marco Raffine 72 count fine art pencils, they are a low end set for artists but I found them great for colouring in. I done the elephants with Derwent metallic pencils.

I knew what page this was going to be the minute I read the Subject line in the email notification!  Haven't done it yet myself, but it's so cute that it's been on my to do list for awhile now.  Love how colorful your version is!  Aren't those "miniphants" adorable?

Thanks @Tikobaby, the miniphants are why I chose to do this page first from the book.  I was so chuffed when I got my new pencils, so many colours to use! Can't wait to see your version.

@OnceUponATime, I don't really know how to shade, some of them go on quite light then you need to apply a wee bit of pressure to get the colour to go deeper, I am going to look up how to shade as I have seen some great pictures here with shading and I would like to learn how to do it properly.

Seeing pictures like these makes me want to buy more colouring books. The few I have are mostly flowers and mandalas but I really want to try something else. I keep telling myself I have to finish the books I have first but that will take an eternity!!!

@Playagirl, go on and buy some more, you know you want to lol. I have 7 books and loads of pages I have printed from the internet, I have done at least 1 page of each book and I love having a choice of what to colour. It also means I'm not stuck doing the same type of picture over and over again.  I can recommend the Creative Haven Owl, Curious Creature and Creative Cats books, the pictures are fun to look at and colour in.

The 3 books you recommended are my 3 favorites!  I also like the peacock book.

Damnit!!!! I now have 2 creative haven books in my cart on Amazon waiting for me to head over to checkout and a third on pre-order. I suppose there are worse things I could be spending my money on.

I've got several on pre-order as well!  The Creative Dogs one and one with Egyptian/Art Deco themes.   The more the merrier so you have a lot of options depending on your coloring mood.  :marker:    :my_shy:

Curious Creatures. Seascapes. Hello Cuba on pre-order for May release. I'm thinking of replacing Seascapes with Victorian Houses. There's a butterfly one that looks nice. As does the owl book.

Dear lord, the more I browse, the more I want. Which is why I haven't actually checked out yet.

I LOVE Curious Creatures!  It's right behind Creative Cats for my favorite.  The Owl book is third.

I have the curious creature book, will need to look up the other ones.  I ended up getting the free trial of amazon prime because I didn't want to wait to get them lol, will need to remember to turn it off when it runs out.

I know what you mean with the browsing, I started with 1 book, 1 set of pencils and 1 set of pens, I now have 7 books, 4 sets of pencils and 6 sets of pens. It is very addictive lol.

Buying art supplies is quite addictive when the extra money is there, for sure.  I've always liked drawing, (not well), and my favorite part is always coloring the picture. I came across Curious' coloring blog and went nuts seeing the adult coloring book pages everyone was doing!  Now I have 10 books and multiple marker sets, pens, and pencils.  It's all her fault!        :marker:

@Tikobaby, yep it's all Curious' fault lol, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ;-) (emoticons not working for me, boo)

Edit: never mind emoticons working for me now :boom:

That's exactly what happened to me. The first time I stumbled on @Curious's blog I was done for. I had never heard of adult colouring books before and I now have 3 books, 2 sets of pencils and 2 sets of markers. Once I make up my mind on amazon I'll have a few more books in my collection and I'm waiting to find prismacolor pencils on sale. I'm now trying to convince my husband to order some stuff he's been eyeing on amazon just so I won't feel guilty for getting the books I'm looking at.

I'm so far behind on the coloring blog *sob*  It's been like 2 weeks since I've had a chance to read it.

If you want prismacolors, I suggest trying to lower end scholar set.  I actually like them a bit better than the more expensive primere ones.  I think I got the whole set of 60 for $49 on amazon vs the set of 48 on sale for $49 (normally $89).

I like the more expensive ones, but for me they are a little soft and I feel like I'm using them up incredibly fast compared to others.  The scholar are just a tad bit harder.  I don't feel like I have to press as hard with them and they seem to be lasting a little longer.

I'm slowly catching up!

I love this page.  I haven't done it yet.  Everytime I see a page I have it makes me want to do that one next.  I have too many "nexts" to keep up with ;)

@caszandra what do you think of the derwent metallics?   I was going to get them and no brick and mortar store here had them, so I went to order them off amazon and somehow ended up ordering a different brand.   It was the same 12 colors so I didn't care much, but the lead is SO hard on the ones I did get that I have to press so hard to lay down color that I don't end up using them much :(

@Curious, I have only used them once on this picture but I really liked them, the lead isn't too hard and the colour layers well if you want it to look darker on the page.

She asked everyone to interact with  her house organization posts in order to boost engagement.

I wonder if she’s trying to write a home decorating book or something?

I want this to happen in so many ways, because who the heck would she write it for? Because in this world how many Jesus loving, huge family, high budget, maximalist, anthro,  mummies, with zero taste are there? I mean I am sure her hordes of followers will totally see them self in any home guide book she wrote 🤣🤣

As to toilets I would pay to have as many toilets as rooms now, after having 1 for 4 people in our older house. I swear I clean more with 1 then 2, 3 woukd be a dream. 😅

I also loved my old house set up, it was a partial open plan. You opened the front door to the living room and dining area, but kitchen was tucked off to the side, so you couldn't see in to it from the front door, but it was open to the dining area so was great for entertaining and living. But I know they aren't for everyone and I admit to not wanting my kitchen seen from the front door. So I guess I like a partial open plan.

Losing a wanted pregnancy at any stage is a devastating loss.  I really feel for Jill and the rest of the Dillards.  I hope Jill and Derick are getting whatever help and support they need - therapy, family and friends taking care of their house and meals, prayer... whatever is actually going to help.

I hate completely open concept living. Like a totally open kitchen, living room, and dining room. And then a huge two story living room that’s open to upstairs. Where all the bedrooms are. I always think you must be quiet in a house like that. Because the noise would travel everywhere so easily. Plus like you said, everyone can see your messy kitchen. We only have 2 bathrooms in our house. I can’t imagine having a ton of toilets to clean. I really hate scrubbing toilets.

We have 2 bathrooms and a half bathroom in our house, and yes, cleaning 3 toilets sucks big time.   We recently decided to hire a house cleaner to come and clean every other week, and I am beyond thankful we did.

Hmm, Braggie spent $4,000 on a fridge with leaky parts that have been replaced once already? 🤔🙄  I guess when all you care about are how things look,  why bother reading performance reviews and buy something that actually works without any issues.

Having been to people's homes for both piano lessons and dog training, I hate open floor plans. It's such a pleasure to just close a door to contain sound, or to keep puppies from danger with a door or baby gate.

I think this is a spin off of open plan living - you can't just shut a door and hide the mess. The trend here that I find absolutely mindblowing is a bathroom per bedroom - who's cleaning them all??
