Hedgie!

Furious posted a hedgehog coloring page on the Picture of the Day and it was so cute I told her I was going to try to draw one myself and color it. She expressed an interest in seeing it, so here it is!  It's based on various clip art I looked up since I didn't have a live model!

aww he's adorable.  He's natural color...are you feeling ok @Tikobaby;)

If the streaking in the background is what you were talking about when we were discussing different types of paper, I think it actually looks great and adds some texture to the picture.

If you did that on purpose, well good choice ;)

Thank you!  So glad you like Hedgie.  :my_shy:   I thought his quills would look good in a variety of browns so I went ahead and did him in a more realistic way than usual...but he would have looked good blue & yellow!  Glad you don't find the lines in the background color distracting. It's really hard to control that...sometimes it looks good and other times I don't like it at all. I like a solid flat color for backgrounds, vivid, but flat. The paper in the sketch book I'm using is smooth and slick and shows the marker lines more than I like, for the most part, but watercolor paper roughs up the marker tips. Am looking for a happy medium.    :marker:

That is adorable! I like the quills. I hardly use markers, I like the look of bold colors. It makes me think of draw blank picture a day groups. If I get some sleep I may try a hedgehog. I tried an owl not too long ago and it was disastrous- I'm so out of practice!

Thank you!  I'm glad you like Hedgie. Those quills took forever! I like vivid and bold colors as well.  Give drawing a hedgie a try!   :marker:

"To bring home our gifts". Gifts for herself, probably.

Faith is also on a grifting tour of France.

Can anyone explain why skydiving over Normandy at a D-Day commemoration is an appropriate tribute? Sure seems like an elaborate and expensive form of cosplay to me.

It seems a good chunk of the Phillips family made the trip to France!

Switching gears.. did you know, allegedly, Liberty’s boyfriend is also a Phillips! And his family is from, wait for it.. Texas! he was adopted at some point, but his biological father is a Phillips.

I am an American living in Canada - and cannot even express how distressing it is to find SO MANY Canadians that support him. I know I live in a very WHITE part of a very white province (which we didn't realize when we moved here - it didn't factor in) but are you KIDDING ME? People around here seem to really like Trump because he's a good business man (uh - how many failed businesses?) and he "tells it like it is" and supports their rights. (you live in Canada! He's not supporting YOUR rights at all!!)

I know some Canadians support him. In fact one of my good friends (at the time) I went to college with is now a very far-right winger and spouts out some crazy pro-trump rhetoric on social media. That being said, I do not think he and other Trump supporters are very big in numbers. At least not in my area.

And I don't get it either. We have a direct look at the US, as one of their closest neighbor. Politics are such a mess south of the border. I don't know why would anyone wish to emulate that here.

PS: @OldFadedStar I wouldn't be surprised if Trump TRIED to extend is mandate though. That man doesn't believe in democracy and the vote of the people and that is scary as hell.

Braggie had a shitty international experience. No surprise there. She seems to only post all the problems. But honestly most people have some issues when flying overseas.

Elishaba posted that after seeing a few more specialists for advanced testing, it seems her tumor is a less aggressive type than originally diagnosed. It sounds like it's still serious but she has a longer life expectancy and a slightly higher chance that it will respond to chemo. Good for her, she deserves a little good news.
