A minimalist effort

My inner minimalist did this in three colors of cheap felt tip pen. In the original there's a cool illusion:  it looks like four colors because the gray looks more golden next to the green and more silver next to the blue, but the effect of the off white background hue  ruins it in the photo.

I like it.   I've been playing around with using less different colors lately.  I usually use as many different colors as possible, so trying to limit myself to only x number of colors has been an interesting experiment for me.

I'm going to keep the idea of using fewer colors in mind if I come across the right kind of design to try it on.  Usually, I like to use a lot of color so it will be a challenge.

For flower and mandala type designs I frequently start at the center and try to figure out ways to return to colors that i've already used I because  I usually end up thinking that something clashes when I put too many colors.

This is really pretty. I like using just a few colours, too. (My owl is only five or six.) It's neat how yours appear different when adjacent to different colours. I wish we could see all these pictures in real life!

Wish we could see them in RL too because the photos I take to post never look as good as the original page and I'm guessing it's that way for everyone...and my other hobby is nature photography and I get really good photos doing that!  Am not sure why taking photos of coloring pages is so tricky.

I have a tendency to want to use ALL the colors on every page.   I've been testing out using less variation in colors recently and really like some of the results I've been getting.

I think the longer you color, the more you refine your technique even though it's just filling in spaces vs real "art."   I have read various articles about coloring where people frame their work and give it as gifts and I could totally see that happening with some of the stuff people have posted here.

I've been following much of the colorist blogging.  I really like this one - I really like many of them.  I really enjoy when y'all talk about color theory and color choices.  As a fairly new quilter who can barely coordinate an outfit, it's very cool for me to be able to read along.  COLOR ON, FJ!

If this woman bothers you, don’t ever go to the m is for mama thread. She’s insufferable, overprivileged, and completely out of touch.

I saw the threads for her and read a few of them last year maybe. I had never seen her on social media. When I went and looked at her Instagram I could immediately see why everyone hates her, she's so full of her self.

This Mamas House is another one I cannot stand anymore.

It amuses me at times when these women are so oblivious to how many advantages they have and start talking about how they overcame their hardships. Sure Jan, you overcame all odds.

Rooted in Rest recently did a video on how their family just thrives on being busy and everyone loves it and she still gets a three course meal on the table for 9 every night. Not once in that video did she mention her sister, father and husband all helping out in various forms during the week. I'm also just over the dance mom shtick. I don't understand why anyone would pay such substantial amounts for their kids to be in competitive sports.

I bet we'll find out one day, if they're still in the public eye and it's at all salacious.  I still doubt it could be the racism thing since that hadn't stopped them before.  It might not be for several more years, though.

If it's salacious enough, it will put them back in the public eye.

I wonder if the more funny posts are because he's not always focused on the preaching grift and has some (gasp) downtime from his day job. Then of course his guilt cell fires up so he has to post about damnation.

I have no evidence to support this, but I've wondered if the larger anonymous donations are from family members who just can't give up on them because - - family.

I had the same thought, maybe an aunt or uncle or grandparent? The only sibling who might have that kind of money would be the one with the ice bath instagram, and I don't think they have sponsorships, but they do have a STR business. But I think that was the first brother to throw Art under the bus for speaking out.

I guess I don't know what the two older sisters do, either.

I know much of this comes from being a salty military wife who's literally not had a single date with her husband in 8 years but I'm just tired of women acting like they have all their shit together but failing to mention how much of their shit their families or paid labor are doing for them.

It amuses me at times when these women are so oblivious to how many advantages they have and start talking about how they overcame their hardships. Sure Jan, you overcame all odds.
