I'm not from America, I don't live in America, I don't have family in America, I don't even have plans to visit America. But I was in a psych ward at the end of 2016/January 2017, and I was not the only person there who said they'd had to turn off the news for the sake of their mental health and that the result of the US election had had a significant toll. Women, in particular. It means something for humanity if one of the world's most powerful countries is led by a racist misogynist who brags about assaulting women, who publicly incites violence and is regularly seen interacting with neo-Nazis.

I feel similarly about Josh and Anna - sure, I don't know them personally and it wasn't footage of my children that Josh was watching, but it means something to me as a parent to know that he is in prison.

I think Jeremy may have written the Zillow blurb, it reads somewhat fundamentalist.

The names of the daughters in the Nelson family are not for the faint of heart. However, if you’ve ever heard of Utah names, they fit the bill.

If I had a child who was into it, and who wanted to train at that level then I'd probably consider doing it. Same with acting etc. - but it wouldn't be the whole focus of the family because it couldn't be, and it would have to be balanced with the needs of the family. At the end of the day if you're that passionate about something you will find ways of making it work as a late teen/adult, not doing it as a child isn't an automatic exclusion.

I think her oldest is definitely into it but she wants to be a missionary, so in 3 years all of this time and money will have been for what -- mom to feel like she's "omg dance mom with five kids so on top of things." I just feel so bad for her toddler who's almost never doing toddler things - no playgrounds, no library store times, just being shuttled to practice after practice.
